(201) 443-9742
We have someone calling us with a heavy Indian accent from the following numbers 518 239-2730 and 201 443-9742 saying that they represent the US Department of the Treasury or the IRS and that they have a warrant for my arrest unless we pay back taxes, interest, and penalties. This is fraud. I called them back and gave them a fake name and told them I was returning their call and asked them if they were aware that they had just called an IRS agent. I gave them my IRS badge number (made up #) and asked if they would like to discuss the matter further and they immediately hung up. I called them back and they asked me to stop calling them. I left a message when prompted that the IRS and Secret Service are working jointly to track the calls being made from this source and if they would cooperate with our investigation they will receive a lighter sentence. I gave them a bogus Secret Service Agent's name and a bogus contact number.
