This company called with a recording asking me to stay on the line. After 5 minutes of hold time, the call disconnected. Calling the number back also got a recorded message, this time saying that any one of 15 companies could have been calling my house and I should hang on to listen to their advertisement.

Automated call alerting me that my vehicle is nearing the end of its warranty coverage. They offer to extend vehicle warranty if I respond. "Don't make the mistake of driving without warranty coverage".The message did not identify my name or my vehicle. I hope they all die a slow horrible death.

I show Cliffside Park, NJ on my caller ID. How they reach our numbers is simple. They use an automated dialing device, which dials all numbers in a given exchange such as 419-473-0001,0002,0003 and so forth. They call fax machines, unlisted numbers, cell numbers, etc. These are illegal and violate the TCPA. I have filed a complaint with the FCC. I have been called by four different numbers in regards to auto warranty scams. The FCC needs to crack down on this and jail the perps. People have been getting calls around three in the morning. To Naveen, above me. If they called you before 8 in the morning, that is also a crime. Law states they can call between 8am and 9pm, unless your number is on the do not call registry (donotcall.gov). Politicians and non-profit charities are exempt. Auto warranty is not.

This number called me again today, with an automated message. I hung up and then dialed the number on my caller ID, and got another automated recording. It explained that I had requested a follow-up call from an online site or survey, or from an affiliated site or survey. So I am guessing my ifo somehow got phished from something online. The recording then went on to give me the option not to be called from the parent firm that handles these calls by pressing 1, so I pressed 1. It then told me I had been removed, but that it could take up to 10 days for the calls to stop. 10 days to process that?!? Give me a break!! But anyway, there's some more info on how to make it stop, if anyone is interested.
