(202) 239-2063
A person whose name was Jones called five times in a row. I had disconnected the first four calls because there was nothing but the 202 239 2063 number showing on the caller ID. I finally answered in a very annoyed voice and the caller, who had a very heavy Spanish accent, said that I was under criminal investigation and I needed to confirm my address. I said "and you also need my credit card number, my social security number, my bank account number, etc. You are nothing but a scammer and DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN - EVER!" I did not put the phone down gently. It was certainly that scam that I've been reading about where one is supposedly in trouble with the IRS and if I don't pay whatever amount they want, I'm going to jail, or I'll lose my job - or be thrown into debtors prison for the rest of my life. I hope they rot in - you know where.
