I am on the do not call list, and they keep calling. I wish they would stop.

They have been calling every day for two weeks, sometimes twice a day.  Each time I answer there ia a pause and then a disconnect.  Getting annoying.

They are calling my cell phone. This is a private number and should not have gained access to it.

Just received a call from this number offering to lower my Visa intrest rate. The guy wanted to "Verify" some info..I hung up and reported him to Visa..They are investigating..

Got a call from this number and they guy was trying to tell me that he was going to lower my hydro bill next month. Claimed he was from Winnipeg Hydro.

I got a call on my cell phone from this number. No message was left. I did a reverse search to see who it belonged to, but it is unpublished. I tried unsucessfully to call it.

I call Winnipeg from the states on a Comcast line. In Winnipeg my number doesnt show up. Instead the number 480-9170 shows up on caller ID WITH NO AREA CODE. Someone should stop misuse of this number.

i   am talking to a guy..supposedly from the u.s.a...was  busy and couldnt answer a different phone number he calls from.  this call showed     up local and i tried to answer it...same as his other number keeps breaking up and a bad connections..would go with a scammer from africa

I just rec'd a phone call from 480-9170 on my cel and tried to call back from land line and all I got was a busy signal, and a msg that says call abandoned.  Can it be blocked?

I get the call from the same #, no voice message left.  I try to call back but all I get is a busy signal.  It's kind of annoying.  Can I block this number?

I also received a call from this number on my cell phone (which I have shared ONLY with friends & family)  The message was "congratulations your phone number has been selected. please press 1 to recieve your promotional gift"  I disconnected the call.

Called without asking for anybody in particular or identifying himself.  Then the idiot tried to offer me lower long distance rates.  It seems like the only people who call my landline are trying to scam me.  I might as well just get rid of the damn thing and use my cell.

Said i won a free promotional gift. I hung up. Nothing is free.

Got a call from 204-480-9170 - they were trying to offer me a lower interest rate on my existing card. In their sales pitch they quoted the wrong prime rate in Canada, and said that they have a business agreement with my bank despite having my old address. With my scam alarm going off, I hung up. Will be reporting this.

I found a number from another web site to call that belongs to Bell and they will forward the request not to call to this number - Bell Voice and Data - 204-480-2000

Won't stop calling, have asked to not be contacted and have been tried on my house and cell phone multiple times.

They call and hang up. Constantly. It's as bad as another number:

Now it works as a fax. We are listed as Do not Call and I need this fax to stop botherig me.

Just received a call from this number, I pressed 1 to ask them to place me on their DNC list... she actually argued with me saying that she couldn't put me on that list without a good reason. WTF!!! Told her I had every right to ask and I didn't need a reason, "FINE" click! I expect a call back again. The Federal DNC list works for Canadian and some American marketers, but these over seas marketers don't give a Sh!t.

I received a call on the afternoon of 12/12/08. The above number was on my call display. I was not able to answer when they called and decided to let it go to my voice mail. Whoever called did not leave a message and when I tried to call the number back to see who called I received a busy signal. I tried the number several times and receive a busy signal each time. I went to the Canada 411 website to do a reverse search for the number. There was no information on this number according to this website. About halfway down the page there was an icon to click that said owner information where I could find out who owns this number. When I clicked a company called GT Telecom Services came up and according to others who complained about this company it is a telemarketing firm. My phone number is registered on the Federal Do Not Call List and I would not want to be bothered by this company or any other telemarketers. Thank you. I hope there is enough information here for you to follow up on.

Just got a call from this number. Hung up without pressing 1. Wanted to look into it before acting. If they call back, I will press 1, hopefully I'll get a live person on the phone, and I'll advise them to put me on their do not call list. I can tell you where they got your number though, as I have only used this number for one accout, which is AMEX.

I got a call from this #, they said they were UPS, and that I had outstanding charges from the Canadian Revenue for an international package, they left an 866-836-4875 # to call back. The scary part is the invoice # they used is from an old package that was sent almost a full year ago. I spoke with UPS and they are now aware of the situation.

Some researcher for shoes, no less. Told them I was registered with the 'do not call list' and they immediately hung up.

The number was rented out by Bell Canada to a third party.  They tell you that you have won something and to press 1.  They are just trying to sell you something.  The last two times that they called me and I got a human on the other end I gave them a blast from a whistle.  Funny, no more calls.

Hi!  This number is used by SKYPE when someone is calling you from a computer on the web for example.

I keep getting this number calling me in Winnipeg manitoba. We don't have bell out here... and it comes up as a local number. I know that telephone companys rent out the lesserquality lines to third party companys for long distance calls like those calling cards you can get to call over seas to aftrica inda and stuff anyhow they rent out the crappy quality lines to the third part companys and it is commen for the lines to get messed

I received a call from someone I know and this call was made from Kampala, Uganda but to my surprise my caller ID showed this number (1204-480-9170) instead of the caller's real phone number. After seeing this number I was surprised and although I knew the call was coming from Uganda I out of curiousity asked the caller where she was calling from and her answer was "of course from Uganda". I'm confused and I don't know if this number is harmful or not.

received a call from this number about 20 minutes ago.  It was a recording about lowering interest rates and to press 1 to speak to someone or press 3 to stop the calls.  I press the 3 so we'll see.  I also set up call blocking on the number so hopefully I wont' get these idiots calling anymore.  I wonder how they would like getting these stupid calls all the time...

I hit *69 and got this number...They call my house endlessly asking if I want a lower interest rate on my card, if so, press 1.  I pressed 1 one time and told the guy to take me off their list.  He said okay...calls haven't stopped.  I pressed 1 again today and asked to talk to the boss, and the guy said okay, and then proceeded to hang up on me.

This is actually some local switchboard that re-routes international calls.  I get calls from a friend who is in South Africa right now and it shows up on the call display as a local call from 480-9170.So the number itself is harmless, however, people calling through it might not be.

I just got this call at 4/24/2008 7:20 PM on my CELL PHONE. Did not answer, they did not leave a message.

Got calls at work and on my work cell. Do Not Call legislation can't come soon enough.

Someone called at 530 AM sounded like from a party...I heard people in the background but quickly changed to a busy signal when I tried throughout the day to find out who it was...

They call me during school, about three times a day. Just a busy signal when you call back.

I just contacted Bell from the instructions mentioned above and they said they would take care of getting that company to stop bothering us. Hopefully they will.

My wife also gets calls from these people several times a day. The number belongs to GT Group Telecom Services Corp. I called them at their main line at (204)480-2000.  It is actually Bell. I talked to someone in customer service for voice and data telecommunications services. They said the line is actually rented out to someone else. They were able to take my name and number to have our name taken off a telemarketing list. Hopefully this resolves it. I urge everyone with this problem to call and complain. Hopefully someone will listen and resolve the issue.

This number called our house 3 times on Sat (b/t 7:25 - 7:30 am) and again, at 7:30 on Sunday.  Woke our kids up both times - on the weekend.When we pick up, no one is there.  When we call the number, we get a fast busy signal!
