Caller identified themselves as part of the "Credit Department." When I asked what company they represented they immediately hung up. My number is registered with DONOTCALL.GOV and they clearly violated the law here and have no problem doing so. I would automatically suspect that this is a scam. Way to go Verizon, for doing nothing about this.

Totally agree with this comment: "BEWARE!!!! Same thing offered to lower my interest rate on a card however when I asked which card they said they represent several companies- Bank of America, Chase, etc then he asked me to give him my credit card number when I declined he hung up. Tried to call back but line is busy. " I asked them for a contact number and the company name so I could make sure it wasn't a scam and Johanna quickly told me it wasn't a scam b/c she wasn't asking for my social security number or pin and that all she needed was the last 8 digits of my master card number and she could give me a lower interest rate" Ummm... not born yesterday!
