The most recent unanswered call came in at 8:28 pm last night. In researching the phone number on the Internet, I found several complaints registered by people receiving like calls. The number was listed to Colonial Penn. Today at 11:25 am, I received another call and answered it. The female caller identified that she was calling on behalf of Colonial Penn and wanted to “verify some information.” If she would have asked me for the information, I would not have supplied it. However, she afforded me the information (name, date of birth, address and phone) and I just verified it.The question that came to mind was what could have changed in two months? (my name?, my date of birth?, sure, maybe my address, but my phone number?...she just called me! As she continued, I then realized it was a “marketing ploy” to get me to purchase more insurance AND, here’s the kicker, to give her some of my friend’s names who might want your products so I could be entered into a contest! Has this what it has come to these days? Is competition that bad that Colonial Penn has to use such deceiving, bothersome, unsolicited phone calls to current customers to get more business?
