I received a call from this number, did not answer it. Instead called what I know is a valid Chase fraud number and asked about this number. They did verify that it is a Chase number - they were trying to contact me to check on a possible fraudulent use of my credit card.

This is a valid CHASE Bank call. There were fraudulent transactions and they were following up on my inquiry. (I think some people are a bit paranoid claiming everything is phony). There are banks calling to follow up on legitimate issues. Chase handles credit cards for other affiliates as well.

Got a call from this number on work and cell phone today 06 26 13. Did not leave a message

Asked to be placed on Do Not Call list three times! Chase is looking for someone I know who owes them a credit card payment.

This is legit, but if you are worried just get to them using the number on the back of your card.

definitely a scam... just got a missed call from this number and saw everyone's comments so I called Chase and talked to both customer service and the fraud dept. both said this number is not from any of their departments and showed no record of anyone from Chase calling me. DO NOT give them any information!!!

I receive phone calls from 919 area code every day- now area code 224 has started. These calls are on my cell phone which is listed on the no call registry. Do I really have to change my phone number to stop this annoyance- or will the calls start up on a new number?!!

I called Chase using the number on the back of my card and they indicated there was no note in the file of their fraud dept attempting contact. They also confirmed that they never ask for information but rather would confirm charges recently made on the card to determine if there were false charges - beware of whoever is using this phone number they don't appear to be legit.

Male caller stated he was from the Chase Bank Fraud Prevention Department and was asking questions about another credit card.

Called to say they were from Continental Fraud Department. No reason why Continental would have a fraud department

Don't know who they are or what they want. Wont answer suspicious numbers, but will locate them. They're calling from Elk Grove Village, Cook Co, Illinois

Apparently this is the Chase Fraud department, call the number on the back of your card if you feel uneasy about giving information to someone at this number.

A lady called and when introducing herself she talked so fast that I did not understand what she was saying. I asked her to please repeat herself as I did not understand her. She then replied "Would...you...like...me...to...bring..an interpreter?" HOW RUDE! So I hung up on her.

I called Amazon.com Visa back and confirmed with them that this number (224-222-5000) is in fact their credit fraud division.

This was a call from Chase Fraud - we had recently applied for Chase Fraud Protection. Today we received this call informing us that our card had been used twice today in Florida! Now we are getting new cards.

looks to be BS.  Do not give them any information.  Banks communicate via paper or secure website messages, they do not call you save maybe the fraud dept but they won't ask for compromising information.

Called this morning asking for lots of information that I was not willing to provide. Said they'd send a letter instead.

They left me (in Pennsylvania) a voicemail on my cell phone. They claimed to be some sort of "Fraud Prevention Department".

SCAM! Identity theft. Asked for social security number. There are 100s of reports on the web for this number if you look, be careful.

they called on my cell phone and hung up.  Then they called on my work phone and hung up.  I applied for a credit card last week.  I'm hoping this is not someone trying to get my identity.  Pretty sleezy if this is the way credit cards now check for valid applications.

Just received a call from this number. When I answered a lady explained that she was from the Amazon.com Fraud Department and they wanted to confirm a few things. She then asked if this was a good time, when I responded no because I was heading out the door she replied oh okay we'll try to call you again some other time and then hung up. My thoughts are if it WAS fraud she wouldn't have just let me say no and then hang up.

I received a call from this number on my cell and did not answer it because I didn't know the number.  A few min. later my work phone rang.  It was a  woman claiming to be from the Chase Fraud Department.  She was calling to confirm my application for an Amazon credit card (which I did apply for a few days ago) and needed confirmation that I applied.  I said, yes, I had and she asked me two questions (1) any previous address and (2) my current age.  I regretably gave her the information.  After hanging up I had second thoughts and thought it was odd.  I called the number on the confirmation page of the Amazon credit app I applied for.  The woman there, at Chase, told me it could have been legit because they do call to confirm information.  I called the number back--the 224 number--and it said, "thank you for calling Chase USA" so I am pretty sure it is legit.  PHEW!!!!

Called my cell phone and business phone.  Wanted to verify my recent credit card application.  I am a Lifelock subscriber and have a permanent fraud alert on my credit report.  It was a legitimate call.  It's nice to know that Lifelock works!

We got a call this morning, Labor Day, which was fishy in itself, since most businesses are closed today. They wanted to speak to me, and, by the time I got on the phone, they had hung up and didn't call back. I am glad that my husband thought to google that number and found this site.

This number is a scam Chase new nothing about it when I called. Don't believe the other posters on this thread-they must be in on the scam.

Got a call from this number this morning.  A red flag was apparently thrown on my account because of suspicious activity.  A $1 charge to Yahoo followed by big charges to Google Adsense and iTunes.  We sorted through the recent transactions, separated out the valid charges from the fraudulent ones, and canceled the account.The number is legit.

I took the call this Morning at 9 am and it seemed fishy. It was for one of the workers we have here and I took the meessage. The woman that called"Carol Dornbush" said she was from The Fraud division of AARP's Visa card division and it was really important she talk to this individual. I gave him the message and told him I thought it was a Phishing Expedition. I then Googled the # 1-800-955-9060 and found you people with the same issue. Call your card companys directly if you think they are trying to get info from you. Good luck

I just called Chase and they knew about the call and verified that it was legite.

I'm on the phone with that number right now...a lady with a heavy accent is continously asking me questions and I'm beginning to get skeptical, so I googled the number right away and found this site. Okay I just got off the phone with her and when I asked her how she got my info, she said my phone number! She kept asking me to verify my information (my address, phone number, my current bank, etc...) She asked if I had the card with me, but I told her no (I don't believe it's wise to give out that info over the phone...) Anyway, I'm praying that I'm not a potential victim of identify theft! I'm going to call Chase right now.

my husband recieved a call on his cellphone, they wanted to talk to me they said it was form the Chase Fraud Department. He told them I was at work and they said they would call me back. I do not understand why they would call my husband instead of me.

I got a call from 224-222-5000 onto my cell phone. She said she was calling from Chase to confirm my change of address, then proceeded to ask me a zillion questions about my purchases.  I called Chase right back and they said it was a valid call to verify information.  The call sounded really really sketchy though.

I just a call from this number and they also ask me to call back the same number as above. I call back and they ask for my SSN. Certaintly I would not give the number to them. I think it is so wield

Just got this call on my cell and work phones.  Said it was Amazon customer fraud division and gave the same 1-800 number and a 12 digit reference.  Based on the other entries, I am not going to bother calling them.  A search for the number also turns up reference to the Fidelity National issue where thousands of consumers had their information stolen; we actually had our information stolen through this and someone stole $500 off one of our cards so I am guessing the source is the same.

Someone called from this number on my cell phone and then 10 seconds later on my work phone. Both times I said hello, they hung up.  Weird.

The call came from Chase USA  They got my first name right but when they got the last name wrong and they hung up.  The last name letter on the last name was right,  I do have an ap out for a student loan but I have no creditcards with them.  Just thought the whole things was a little odd
