Told me that someone tried to get a credit card under my name for $9,000 in North Carolina. I just hung up on him
This was a return phone call from Barclay's, as I was promised. NOT SPAM at all.
The caller called to advise of a fraud alert. I did not answer. I checked my account online myself and noticed a fraud alert on the account requesting me to call in to check charges - card is blocked until I confirm purchases I made were made by me.

The funny thing is. I did apply for a Jetblue Barclays CC yesterday. Why would I get a scam the next day and how do they know I applied.? Coincidence or not?

Called and caller ID shows as JPMorgan Chase. The speaker has a VERY heavy foreign accent and tried to tell me that someone was trying to open a charge in my name but they noticed I am in Ohio and the address was in North Carolina and then they gave ME a social security number trying to get me to verify if it was mine. At that point I knew it was not something the bank would do and hung up. Called Chase and they verified this was a fraudulent attempt to get my information.
The call seemed sketchy because the caller ID is unknown but they said they were from Barclay, so instead of picking up or calling back I called Barclay's general support number from their website and was eventually redirected to this same number.
