Went by Stephen to me and a friend he was also trying to scam. Will claim to provide an item or service, in my case moving a piano for a lady, goes by Tracey Nora (almost definitely not a real person)and has a very su****ious Facebook profile, who was allegedly giving away a piano for free because she didn’t have ****e for it in her apartment and thought her grandma would want to give it away, looking back, this was probably the setup to the scam. This took place on Facebook marketplace and they’ve probably reused the same ****od or similar ones in different areas, this one taking place in New York. Will refuse to offer/confirm any proof that they (he is definitely in collusion with others as he does not have a consistent account on any money exc****ing platform) are qualified, as he claims to be a private mover but will keep you in the dark as much as possible so you do not find anything out. Will try through cashapp and Zelle, both apps who do not offer fraud protection, and if pushed to accept PayPal, will refuse the “Good and services” option payment as that offers fraud protection and will instead try to pressure you into selecting the for “close family and friends” option as this does not ensure any recourse to receive a refund once his scam is complete as you’re expected to have known the recipient and an individual generally cannot be held accountable by acts and laws concerning legitimate or under the face of a legitimate transaction. Will send you several different usernames to try to take money from you, even attempted to get me to load a gift card as payment.
