Here is a brief story on what my business faced with Madison Capital. First a gentleman by the name of Dominique Ransay called our office and scheduled a meeting with me to discuss appropriate financing and create capitalization structures to optimize our potential. When he arrived the first thing I mentioned to him was that I was in no way going to pay any upfront costs. We continued our conversation for about an hour. He then called his corporate office and scheduled someone from Chicago to come visit us the next day, which sounded to freaky. Normally to schedule a business trip from Chicago to San Antonio, you would at least give it a few days. Anyhow I said that was fine as long as there would be no upfront fees. A gentleman by the name of Rick Johnston arrived the next morning fresh out of Chicago in a Texas Plates Continental (non-rental vehicle) to our office. I again stated to him that I would in no way pay any upfront fees. He kept ignoring the conversation regarding money upfront. We continued our conversation from about 9:00 am till about almot 4:00pm. Right at about 3:00 pm, I finally made him fess up to any upfront fees. He then told me that first of all I would have to cut him a check for $1,950.00 for that day for his consultation, however that being said he then told us that this did not mean we would get approved for any type of financing just yet. In order for them to even consider it, there would be another fee of another measly 35 to 40 thousand dollars for an internal evaluation of our company. After this evaluatiion this still did not give us any guarantee of any type of financing just yet. He stated that this was a normal procedure and then proceded to tell me to give him his $1,950. I had enough after this and told him I was not going to give him a dime. He then became angry and got me on a conference call with Dominique and supposedly his Chicago office. We al spoke and they all tried to convince me that they had told me the fee was normal. Of course I did not fall for their game and sent him away. My advise to Madison Street Capital would be to be upfront with your fees and change your latest testimonies on your website. I called at least 10 of their clients that they have posted on their website. Out of the ten, 9 of them had their numbers disconnected and the one person I did speak to was a totally different company that knew nothing of Madison Street Capital.
