I've been called SO MANY times by SO MANY different numbers, I've lost track of which sites I've put comments on! Got this call at 9:07AM on my home phone; recovering from a MAJOR illness and this WOKE me. Didn't answer/no message, but I've gotten the "Rachel" call too many times to count. Telling people to BUY a call-blocking phone or service is OK, BUT I think we are MISSING A MAJOR POINT here: THE PHONE COMPANIES, and CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ARE **IN** ON THESE SCAMS, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD HAVE STOPPED BY NOW. Do you NOTICE that the SOLUTION for NOT BEING VICTIMIZED/the LAW VIOLATED is for *US* to *BUY* SOMETHING from CORPORATE AMERICA??? THINK about it: Buy a PRODUCT or SERVICE so that CRIMINALS CANT HARM or REACH US. Doesn't that sound a little like EXTORTION to you??? Isn't that the same as the neighborhood mafia extracting a fee for 'not' beating you up? With the DNC List the GOVERNMENT KNOWS WHO these violators are. They COULD shut them down - BUT THEY DON'T. The PHONE COMPANIES KNOW WHO these violators are/WHERE they are/and WHAT NUMBERS they are using. THEY COULD BLOCK these numbers from being used - BUT THEY DON'T. Meanwhile, your CELL PHONE MINUTES are being EATEN UP by these calls; Don't you think the PHONE COMPANIES **WANT** that??? The CREDIT CARD COMPANIES KNOW all about this - too. NOTICE HOW THEY **ALL** want to SELL you a product or service to 'stop' or 'block' these calls (AFTER you've gotten at least ONE of them at any given number, of course) OR **'PROTECT** Your Credit - but HAVE NOT LAUNCHED ANY INVESTIGATIONS or LOBBIED CONGRESS themselves to stop them on our behalf? They robocalled my business and the recording claimed they were "Accounting Department" offering a reduction on my credit card interest rate of as little as (more than my current interest rate) and that I should press "1" now, because my eligibility is soon to expire. This is a phishing scam. They did not announce what company they work for nor advise me to call my bank or look on the appropriate website. They did not know who I was or even what place they called. If you get this call - well, you're on this website so obviously you are pretty savvy. :) Congrats!

I just got a call from this number and they claimed to be calling from my "credit card" (very vague, didn't identify which company) and that they wanted to offer me a lower interest rate and that this was my final notice. They wanted me to talk to somebody in order to do so by pressing 1 or press 2 to stop further calls. I didn't bother talking to somebody and pressing 2 was probably not the best idea. Either way, this is clearly a scam so do not give them any information. Your credit card will not call you to offer a lower interest rate in this way. They will adjust your interest rate without calling you.

Their machine says that it's an important call about your credit card account and then tells you there isn't currently a problem with your account but that they are calling because you need to act quickly to get a better interest rate on your account. If you press one to speak with a rep and tell them you are on the no call list or ask not to call or in anyway have anything to say other than about your credit card account, they will hang up on you but they will call repeatedly!!

Phone rings and I let the answering machine pickup, because I don't recognize the number. No message. This so annoying. What is there purpose? Is it just to rack up phone calls answered even if it's an answering machine. Do they get paid by the call and at our expense interrupted time? I never answer calls that I do not know the number. Thank goodness I have caller ID, tried to call back, all it stated was for me to press 1 to delete my number. We will see. Also to any person out there "IF" anything says free, it's NOT. The representative for this company (don't know who it is) couldn't answer my simple question about who they were calling on behalf of. Just kept saying over and over again Card Services. I get a call weekly from them and I asked that they remove my name from thier calling list. He hung up on me. There was a language barrier too as he was not fluent in English. I am a transaction user, ie... pay my bill in full each month and not a revolver, paying min pay or partial amounts. I have no idea why they want to "lower my interest rates" as I never revolve!

I have created a folder on my pc named “my battles” and have placed in it all types of information related to bs issues. I have placed the following in this folder for pasting and copying here. i have, in the past, filed complaints with the fcc for violators to the 'do not call list'. it got to the point where i felt as though i was spooning water from the ocean. now ...i have applied all of my valid incoming telephone call numbers with specially assigned ringtones and i don't answer any call that activates the standard ringtone. with the special ringtones i know who is calling even before i look at the callerid! i advise taking this logical action ... it is easy ... it only takes a few minutes and will solve (most) of the problems. there is a caveat though ... as with all technologies it doesn't work 100% of the time because nothing is completely accurate (sometimes 'wanted' calls come through with the standard ringtone) but since i took this action many months ago i have found that it works as designed about 95-98% of the time. we are all aggravated by those who push their products and services when we just want to be left alone and we have a right to be (aggravated). we pay for our phones and other ignorant a$$holes take advantage of them. it is up to us to take actions to ensure our own rights are protected. hope this idea helps ... it works for me ...

I have gotten calls from this group before. Don't bother to press "2" to stop further calls. They will call again anyway. I have pressed "1" a couple of times to talk with a live person. They claim to have a better interest rate for my credit card. They say since I make all the payments they are approving a lower interest rate. I ask them what bank they are with and they say Visa and Mastercard. I ask again what bank issued the card. This goes on for a little while without either of us giving any information. Evidently they say they don't want to waste any more of our time and hang up. I am sure they are trying to get me to give them my credit card number so they can steal it. Maybe next time I will play along long enough to see if they do really ask for it. I am glad to waste their time if it keeps them from stealing someone else's information.
