i got a message with a weird mexican voice talking about some sounding halloween /haunted house advertisement sounding thing. it was distored and almost sounded like half-english/half-alien so odd.. Oh well stuff like this happens all the time to me , so It's nothing out of the ordinary.

Received call from 416-999-4930 @ 10:29am on 10/20/10. Answered call and said hello twice with no response. Heard faint hissing on the line much like you would hear on a long distance or overseas call. Call lasted 11 seconds. I called the number back and received a recording that said "6UT2, The number you have reached is not in service" This repeated 3 times, then recording changed to "6UT1, The number you have reached is not in service." which also repeated 3 times and then disconnected. There must be a way to find out what telco providor issued this phone number as a means to trace who it has been assigned to. Any one what (or how) number ranges have been assigned to what telcos?

Call was from Verisign contacting us about renewing one of our certificates (that we have with them). Thawte would be related as Verisign is the parent company. Could possibly show up as Symantec in the future since they purchased Verisign.

got same call just now. the number is 9794460366. I traced this number and its coming from Bryan, TX 77803, USA coordinates= 30.673434, -96.365751 (Google map). Probably a new form of a spam yet in VOIP. a new nuisance is born.

I just got this call not two minutes ago 5/13/2010 @ 2:45 PM. WTF? I proceeded to do a google search and ended up here. This is crazy that there are other people who have received this call. I am in Columbus OH. My ph is posted on the web in places, so it may have been picked up by a website that scrapes for phone numbers.

I received 3 calls on my cell from 416-999-4930 (Ontario, Canada), each about 30-40 minutes apart. Phone quality was horrible. All three times the man clearly asked for me by name, and then the phone quality gets really bad. When I tried to reply he could not hear me. I personally think it’s some scam where they record you saying “Yes, This is (your name).” and then use it against you on some bill or purchase. I read on some other sites that it could be something to do with SSL Site Certificate. I haven’t a clue about site certificates as I don’t have a website. I know they aren’t cheap though, as much as $1000.

I received a call from this number at 11:20PM. The caller asked for me by name and then proceeded to speak but the connection seemed to be coming from a IP phone with a really bad connection because I could not make out any of the conversation. I hung up and 10 minutes later received a "UNKNOWN CALLER" call and there was nothing but silence on the other end. No firther calls after that.
