I get multiple calls from this number. My girlfriend receives the same call from the same number. They say they are attorneys, claiming that they want to serve my girlfriend with legal papers on criminal charges. This is comical since my girlfriend has never done anything illegal in her life. We get the same kind of calls from other numbers, and it seems to be in some kind of circulation as the sequence is always the same. The most recent voice-mail they left me was a woman allegedly named Laura Whitaker who claimed to be an investigator. She goes on to say that she is calling in regards to legal documentation "solidified through [my] local jurisdiction" involving my girlfriends name and social security number. It was quite obvious that she was reading from a script. The ONLY thing I can think of (giving the benefit of the doubt that they're a legitimate business) is a time when we applied for a cash advance from Money Mutual and were denied, only to find $300 in our bank account from an unnamed and unknown lender that did not disclose their address when depositing the funds. After some research, I discovered the lender to be an enormous scam, preying on the less fortunate. So, we emptied the account and closed it, which we were told by the bank teller was completely within our rights. Now I have a feeling that the scam artist wants their $300 back. I'm just spit-balling on the speculation of who this could be, but one thing is for sure, these people are relentless!! They never stop calling. I'm saying spam on this one because no legitimate business would call daily with angry threats and inconsistent job titles. One day they're attorneys, the next, they're "officers", then, they're a criminal fraud agency... and for two years they have been calling with their "third and final warning" twice a week. The voice-mail they leave always ends with them requesting either my girlfriend or her attorney to contact them. I am fairly good with words, and I plan to call them pretending to be her attorney. I'll report back with what I said if it works.
