Unsolicited sms text and not even a current number for the intended person. I’ve had the same number for 15years. “Hey Tuan! My name's Ashleen and I'm in real estate in the Renton area...I wanted to see if you'd consider an offer for your home?”

I could hear other people in the background who were giving their pitch, or trying to coax the person on the other end of the phone to go along with the business model they were describing. Clearly the person on the other end was losing interest and the "salesman" was trying everything he could think of to keep them on the line, or allow a call back after the weekend.

Caller ID said Tavares Star. This was supposed to be an initial screening for help getting an online business set up. The guy I was speaking with, Matthew Harper (?), said he needed to remote in to my computer to help me get some software set up to be able to utilize and access the things they used with their company. This was nothing more than getting me to sign up to nerdwallet.com and applying for 2 Amex cards. Possible compromise of personal data during the nerdwallet set up. After being approved for the 2 credit cards and having me up my spending limit from PayPal he changed gears and was trying to get a commitment from me to invest $5000-10000 to get my new business up and running which he said i could use my new credit cards to pay back my accounts I would be withdrawing from. When I hesitated he started to put more pressure on me and using tactics like"if you wait this opportunity might not be available to you again". That's when I hung up. Very convincing until that occur
