(510) 204-4444
This number does belong to the Summit Medical Center in Berkeley. Most likely the call is originating from the mental health ward - but a call from any phone in the hospital shows as 510-204-4444. I called the Herrick campus and asked the operator for the mental health ward. She asked which patient I wanted and became difficult when I told her I wanted to speak to someone in charge of the unit. I was finally connected with the mental health ward's secretary. She told me they have around 32 patients, and each patient has phone access - it is their right, so it could be any of them placing the calls to my phone. She asked if I had a name, no I didn't but I gave her the date and time of the calls, described the woman's voice and that she spoke so****ing other than English or Spanish. The secretary thought she might know who it was and said she'd ask the patient's social worker to speak with her about the calls. So, next time you get called by this number, see if you can get the callers name (you might get lucky), then give that to the mental health department's secretary and hopefully go from there. Lacking a name, try to get any other identifying information you can, for instance when did the calls begin (they could check to see if a new patient was admitted that day, etc.), does the caller mention a name, a son or daughter? Good luck!
