A few calls from telemarketers in San Leandro,CA who are somehow connected to the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper's subscription-service. Never any voicemail. Apparently, SF Chronicle subscriptions are hurting badly with layoffs at the Chronicle HQ, competing area newspapers, and increasing use of online news. In the recent past, Chronicle telemarketers and in-person sales teams have repeatedly attempted to foist "special" subscription deals on****ential subscribers. Very poor "special" deals, and one can expect further Chronicle telemarketer calls as its subscription-service business continues to plummet!
