I also got a call from this number telling me they were the Internal Revenue Service and I needed to call 516 515-7671 and ask for Mr. Adam Clark. It was a New York call and sounded su****ious, so I called my accountant and he said the IRS would have sent me a letter and wouldn't have my phone number; he said it didn't sound legit and if they called back to refer them to him and they would need a Power of Attorney to give out information! Glad to see these responses to know I made the right decision---I won't be calling them back!

I just received a call from another 516 number, thick Indian accent, clearly stating they were from the irs and told me to call the supervisor. I called 516-515-7671,spoke to another man with a thick Indian accent who told me I would be arrested tomorrow and brought to the courthouse for a $1500 IRS S debt. I told him tomorrow was Sa****ay and courts were closed, he stumbled a little and said I would be put in jail until Monday. I asked him to give me the full legal name in the report, he repeated the name they asked for which is a nickname and then I asked for the address where I'd be arrested, he gave me a different address. I told him it wasn't my legal name or address and he ***g up.

Caller said he was from IRS - very thick accent and could barely understand him. Said his name was John Anderson and there was a problem with my tax return. Gave me this number to call to speak to Abam Clark. When I questioned him and said IRS does not phone - they send mail, he said they tried to reach me 3 times by mail but got no response. When I asked him what address they used he couldn't say. This is definitely phony.

Received a voice mail from a man with a thick foreign accent. He did not explicitly say he was from the IRS, but the verbiage of the message was that there was a shortage in my income taxes that needed to be corrected immediately. He indicated I or my attorney needed to return the call immediately. It screamed SCAM, as it was clearly a loud call center.
