Scam caller claimed to be from the US customs and border protection agency claiming that they intercepted a package sent for me from Mexico. They even knew my name and address. When I asked “how do I know this isn’t a scam?” (Knowing full well it’s a scam) he said he could give me his name and badge number. I hung up immediately after that.

Same as above. Claimed multiple packages and transactions going through El Paso. Gave a fake claim number, even called back s****ing the El Paso CBP number on caller id. Knew old addresses etc. Pretty convincing.

Got a call from them and the lady said I have a package arriving from Mexico. I told her I don’t expect and have no relatives or acquaintances in Mexico and the call disconnected

Someone from this number impersonated someone from the Customs and Border Protection agency. He said a package had been stopped at the US/Mexico border with traces of drugs on it and $45K in cash. He said I was the target of the investigation. I pushed back on everything he said but it was scary for sure. The employee at CBP was real, too. I called and emailed him. I reported it to local police too.

Scam. No voicemail. Goes back to a service that says for safety don’t call back.

If you want to find the number, many websites offer to sell a report with the info. So... my theory is that they are the companies selling the reports, and are creating a market for their own product by making the calls in the first place! If so, it will catch up to them, but not soon enough for me!!! Incidentially, I got a "hello" out of the guy. Then I asked what time it was in his time zone. He said "10 o'clock." I asked why he was calling at 10 at night, and he hung up. But in the background, I could hear lots of faint voices and phone activity -- like a low class call center. Hope that helps.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for the past few days, only I answered once and nobody was on the other line. STOP CALLING!
(530) 869-3666
This number has also been calling our house for over a week now. Usually one or two times per night and then they hang up. I saw that one person suggested getting in touch with your service provider and reporting the abuse. I intend on doing this tomorrow.

Apparently that is not even a real number. It would appear that PAC Bell does not own the number. While I have not called it, I understand that the bogus number has not been in use for a long time.It would be wise to not answer it. If you do, be careful. Someone could be harvesting info from you to be used to your everlasting regret. For example, they have your number. If they combine that with easily available information such as your e-mail address, they could sneak a charge onto your local phone bill and before you notice it, run up charge that you cannot get back from your provider. (It happened to me, but probably not from the 530 number. However, who knows how people spoof the caller id!)Caller ID: INTERNATIONAL

I actually just called Pacwest Telecomm's abuse and harassment line at (800) 511-9048 and complained. She said I was glad that I had called because there have been other complaints, and that they she was forwarding those complaints on. I encourage everyone to call and let them know!!

Called 12/17/08 at 5:07 pm. Usually I don't answer these, but this time I did and all that happened was a disconnect as soon as I answered. This also happens a lot with these 'type' of calls.
