DCS is company know for being brutal over the phone.  THey collect on student loans.  Basically they are out to get your money.  I had to learn this the hardway, I was pursuaded to make payments on my student loan. (I KNEW IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO) But this gentleman by the name of "Joe Schmit" or something to that sounding told me that my minimum payments were 200 dollars a month.  I told him that my hours were cut and that I was not able to make that payment. Long story short.... I hung up.  He started to call me every day, until he caught me on the phone at work after pay day. Since i was under the impression that this was the only option I decided to make the payment.  I did some research on the internet, and to my surprise this Joe guy ripped me off.  He knew I had a family, He knew that my money was tight, and he knew that I was going through a divorce.  Even knowing all this did not stop him from giving me the break i needed.  It turned out that my payments shoudl have been under 100 dollars.  LIARS!!! IF YOU ARE A HARD WORKING AMERICAN.... How did they know that and when the person answering the phone asked for more information a lady from DCS said her name was Robin and was very rude to Katie when she asked for details on why they were calling the Untied Way looking for me what sleeze balls..... I am a volunteer for crying out loud there once a week if that

dcs doesn't break the law, federal or state. So all your legal actions will be useless, and eventually do nothing but cost you money. They wouldn't be calling your friends and neighbors if you could be reached straight forward. Pay your debts!

Just got a call from these clowns asking for some guy named Latrell. When I started to ask specific questions as to the nature of their call they hung. There is no way this is a legitimate business

They called my cell three times and kept asking for somone else - named Jamaica - ugh! And then when I finally said I am definitely not that person they were rude. I told them to get my number off their list. Intersting once I started asking they refused to even give their company name. guess what - I now have a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Fortunately the CC company called and this is being reversed. I am going to file a major consumer complaint in Oregon about this company and plan to ensure that this gets publicized. Fraudently charging against the wrong person and card. frankly I have no debt anywhere and this just crap!

A female who said her name was Lisa called my work phone number and asked for a person with my same name (very common name) which was not me. I asked her to verify pertinent info and she refused. I asked her where she was calling from and initially she would only say 'Oregon', then finally she told me she was with DCS. She wanted me to transfer her to someone else who could help her find the person with my like name and I refused.

Calls twice a day. Never leaves a message. I work long hours and am either asleep or at work. I have no idea what these people want, but I can guess it isn't for my benefit.

Called asking for Aaron.  When I said that there was no one here by that name, caller asked if this was the **** residence.  I said that it was and he said, well maybe you're related to Aaron.  When I said I had never heard of this person, he said sorry and hung up.  Phone rang again 20 seconds later, same guy and he started asking for Aaron, then said, sorry, this is the same number again isn't it.  I said yes, and he hung up.

They called me, and I decided to google the number to see who it was...and I found out that many others have complained about them, so I think it justifies adding my name to the list to hopefully get pressure put on such companies like them to cease and desist

Call about once a week. Hang up when it goes to voice mail. Think I'll pick up next time and have some fun.

Got a call looking for a relative. The number they had for this person has been out of service for several years. They would not tell me what thay wanted. The woman calling was Veronica. The call originated in Oregon. This relative had loan issues that were resolved.

A lady called, asked for me by name, and wanted to know if I knew my neighbor, Dan. Told her that I am unfamiliar with my apartment neighbors. Asked how she got my number, she said she looked up addresses similar to Dan's and got me. I wondered 'Why not just call Dan'? Now I know it was a collection agency. Even if I knew Dan, why would I give her info? Sounds like they are desperate to get info anyway they can - kinda sleezy. It made me feel unfortable talking to her.

My story is the same as "act" (above).  If the lady was looking for my neighbor, why didn't she call them instead of me.  Duh!

I work for DCS and while we might be scumbags we have the very challenging task of collecting federal laons. If you dont want us calling over and over its better to just answer the phone and be honest. If you dont know the person thats all you have to say. If you have nothing to hide then why are you hiding. Pay you federal dbts, or they will take the money from you some way.

my mom received a call from DCS Inc. from the # 209-858-3580. A lady named Liz called and wanted my mom's address and phone number and then asked for her social security number. Then she asked about my brother, who lives in the same county, and my grandmother, who lives next door. My mom asked for more information but she wouldn't give it to her. She wouldn't even say why she was calling. Very strange.

Extremely rude people. They have a hell of a nerve calling people cold out of the phone book.  This should be illegal, especially when you have signed up for the do not call list.

I too recieved a call from this number and also recieved a message from a Julie Wynn but as to how they got this number is beyond me as I never give my home number out to any places that I have applied for loans with I only give my cell number.  The number showed up on my Caller Id and cake up as an unknown number but when I listedn to the message then I foun the name of the company out

Company called looking for someone who has the same name I do. She asked several questions like "do you live in Philadelphia?....Are you related to anyone by the names of....." When I answered no to all her questions, she informed me that she thought she might have the wrong person and was sorry to bother me. I thought our bizarre conversation was over until my next door neighbor approached me this weekend saying he got a call from some in Oregon asking all kinds of questions about me. Are you kidding me? Who is this company and what are they trying to prove? I called the above number back today to find out exactly what they're up to and the operator wouldn't put me through to anyone but proceeded to tell me that if this phone call was important someone will call me back & without letting me speak, told me to have a nice day & hung up on me. I don't know who these people think they are, but you can't just go around harassing people and interfering in their personal lives unless you expect to answer for it. I will now be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well as looking into filing harassment charges. NOW YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!!

Unknown caller. My number is listed with the National Do Not Call List but obviously this company ignores this.

The caller asked for me by my 1st name and stated that she was looking for my neighbor and needed to get in touch with her. When I asked how they got my number she stated through a internet search.  My question is if u took the time out to check the internet for her then freaking check the internet for my freakin neighbor.  I called them back to speak with a supervisor and she would not put me to one buut wanted my SS number......is she crazy!  How do i report this number????

lady called looking for address 8305 looking for stephaine. asked if there was houses next door . i told her yes but i was unfamiliar with my nieghbors and i couldnt help.

Was teaching class when my phone went off... looked at the number... don't know anyone in Oregon so, not wanting any further interruption of my class, hung up on them. When lunch came around I did a google of number and came to this site. I appreciate those that have taken the time to let people know about this number and what they are doing... definately won't be taking any calls from them! Thanks to all... BTW... my credit is fine!

Caller named Scott Grey called asking for Mark Butler. Said he lived in the same place as us and wanted his phone#. He said he would try another number and call back in a half hour to talk to my husband. Very strange, he acted like I should know him and I have never even heard of him before.

they call for a reference. Saying "I'm calling because nancy put you down as a reference" when I ask reference for what they don't answer they just say "well do you know her? why would she have put you down as a reference if you're not going to give one for her" if you say sure I'll give a reference then they pull the lets verify the address and phone number of the person they are trying to get the "reference" from... nice move, but NO ONE checking references askes YOU for the phone number and address of the person applying for ANYTHING. They are suck blow hards, I hate them. BTW I dont' know anyone named nancy I just like giving them one, six, zero, zero Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington 20500 as the address and 202-456-1111 for the phone number. they are such dumbasses they don't realize it's the whitehouse...

I got a call today from this number looking for someone with the same last name that lives in a city about an hour from here.  Totally irritating that they'd call any name out of the phone book looking for collections.  I'd heard of these things before, so I messed with her a bit "why do you want to contact him?" sorta questions.  Dumbasses.  Like I'd give out contact information to some stranger contacting me.  I wish I could report this as illegal activity.

I got a call and they asked for me and my wife by name, but at the same time, they were looking for someone else that supposedly lives up the street from me. Her name was Jacquelyn and she was looking for Matt....??? Crazy but weird. Someone tell me what's up??

The scumbags from Diversified Collection Services specialize not only in student loans but in any unpaid Government Loans. The harassing calls occur anytime of the day and night home and cell numbers. I have Verizon and from what I was able to gather from some other people that are being harassed they also have Verizon. I was wondering if Verizon sells personal information to DCS and they do their "Fishing Expedition"  by matching names to phone numbers?

Some man called asking for someone with my last name but no one I ever heard of. I told him he had the wrong number. He kept on about how old they would be, etc. I called back the caller ID number to see who they were and the woman I got transferred me to "Paul" who wouldn't tell me anything unless I was that person he asked for. I have no idea why they would be cold calling people in this area, but I don't know who they were talking about!

you can be on the do-not-call list and still recieve calls from collection agencies, that list doesnt apply to creditors. if they have the wrong #, simply asked them not to call you again. but when that debt gets transfered to another agency, your probably gonna get another call from that new agency.

Someone named Emily called for someone else. I told her that she had the wrong number. They have called me before on my cell number months ago. I am on a do not call list for a reason.

this is a collection agency that works for department of education. they submit garnishments and lawsuits for defaulted student loans. if you have a student loan, be carefull, they are serious!!!! They got me into garnishment before i even knew what was going on.

Someone named Julie Wynn called and left a message for someone what wasn't me.  When I called the number on caller id, they said it was collection agency so I called the no. and asked to speak to her stating, I was returning a call.  They didn't have any of my information, but kept asking for my social over the phone.  I told them I wasn't going to give them any of my information, if they didn't already have it.  Weird, something is fishy!
