today, january 18, 2011, at 8:13 am i recieved  call,and couldnt hear what it said, its like the person was far away, and i kept hanging up, it called 3 times, and i couldnt hear anything. I called back but the phone rang and rang and there is no voice mail or anything that udentifies itself. P.S it said, "Palm beach co  s " co and space between s,

I also had this appear on ID, but recognizing the 688 I picked up the phone. Sadly the PBSO are misusing this system apparently to attempt to appear legitimate for the records with no trace back on who is calling, which would not let me confirm the caller ID. Somehow this reeks of unethical misuse of tax dollars for the method I was given to hide the identity of the person. He stated he was a seargant but he was not a seargant over anyone! Well if you know PBSO as I do, that is false information right there. I was informed my request for records showed I had no records on file. Considerning my child was a victim of stalking and the man was prosecuted later, that is impossible for PBSO to claim. The ethics  of PBSO is clearly going out the door on even the simpliest things these days so the use of this phone number to hide behind is abuse of our services. I wont answer it again for that reason alone; the next time they can give a legitimate contact number so ID's can be confirmed when they use it in this manner to avoid what the laws dictate are the laws.

like a couple of others. A woman called demanding my address and when i wouldn't give it to her she got rather nasty. Proceeded to make some other remarks, then hung up. If this is the police dept as some claim then they should be a little more professional, state their case and then hang up.   Would have thought after 30 rings there would have been some kind of answering service, NOTHING

It is the PBC Sheriff's Office, I missed the call and because I know why they called, I called back the main # and sure enough the lady said they did call us.

i want to know who called  and was not picking up when the call was return

This really is the Palm Beach Sheriff Office.  I know because I work there.

10pm call saying they were the Palm Beach Police and they had received a 911 call from our home. They wanted our okay NOT to send the police. When I called this number back it rang and rang but no one answered. The number is not the police.

my cousin received a call from the above number; the male voice was asking for me. I was not available at that time of call. The person on the other side of call did not identify themself to my cousin or indicate what the call was about.

Please stop calling me!
