This company calls me continually saying i "owe them money". Wrong! In regards to a school loan that is already paid off! Absolute Spam!!

i actually made the payment bc i knew i owe money for my eduacation but now they keep calling me. idk what for but after reading thks comments i really have to report this... sigh heeeeelllp

Yes, I am just now getting phone calls from this number.They hang up before I answer 'though.The Dept. of Ed. came after me and claimed I owed them money.I borrowed no money from them ever and asked them to prove I did.They could not! You need to BLOCK their phone number from coming through.....................That is what I did and they NEVEr called again. I owe no one. I am debt free..........proud to say and I never paid them a dime.

Last month I started receiving calls from this number, someone named Jason from Conserve.  He called me at my cellphone, and said it was regarding a business matter.  I asked, how did he get my cellphone, he said they called many people trying to get my number.  He said they've been harrassing people I used to work with from 15 years ago just to get my number, even though they kept telling them they don't have my information.Though I have paid my debts, I wanted to verify who/what the matter was regarding.  He said it was regarding Department of Education loan.  He went on and on, saying that I owed $8,000 and "how would you like to pay right now" as if anyone would ever give that type of money over the phone without verification.I advised him that no letter was ever received of even this debt ever existing, in fact I asked him for the EXACT amount, according to the old letter I had of Department of Education before I had paid it off back in 2004.  Of course, his quote was $6,000 more than the actual debt, and I told him it was PAID OFF FOUR YEARS AGO, what was he doing calling me? Then he said that his company Conserve bought an old debt from the Department of Education, and possibly the reason why it was so high in addition to the amount of the actual debt was due to collection agencies' incurred charges.  Then he tries to tell me that when I got the loan, I signed saying that I'd allow collection agencies to charge up to 50% of the loan in collection fees.  I told him, even if I had not paid it off, the amount he was advising was THREE TIMES the actual amount "allegedly" owed.  What does he think, that I can't figure that 50% off a $2,000 "alleged" debt does not equal to $8,000? Although I had already paid off the loan, I asked for a verification letter with all the information he has of me, so I could verify whether they did have my SSN and DOE information.  I did this so I could report them for false collection practices to the DOE and the proper authorities.He said that even if a loan is paid off, that Conserve STILL BUYS DEAD PAID OFF LOANS and tries to collect on them, and that they do this all the time.  He was boasting that he just collected on a poor guy's auto loan which he had already paid to the lender.........just by claiming that they were a collection agency.  He said he told the guy "it doesn't matter if you already paid off your loan, we can still collect on it, we buy all dead loans and get our money, that's what we do............even if you already paid off the loan, the collection fees are 3x what the actual loan amount is, it doesn't matter you still owe us just because it's "collection agency" fees.It has been almost a month since I requested written verification that they worked with DOE.  I advised them 3x that if they worked with the DOE, they should see that it was paid off to the Dept of Education over FOUR YEARS AGO.  They have not sent any letter, but instead keep calling me 4x per day nonstop.How do I make them stop?

Same as everyone else, these people are ignorant. I have told them not to call because I do not know this company but I still get the calls. I have contacted the BBB in my area.

Cagey place that won't tell you why they are calling. When I asked, the caller from Conserve said they provide "personal" data to companies. Why would anyone give that kind of information out?

Calls sometimes 5 times a day. Never leaves a message. When I finally answered, they immediately started making threats and accusations. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I called back and asked for them to send verification of debt and they refused. Unprofessional.

BEWARE OF CONSERVE COLLECTION AGENCY, Fairport, NY, 585-598-6192. This is by far one of least professional agencies I have ever heard of, to say the very least.If you google them there is page upon page of unpleasant responses from victims of this agency. They obvious hire ignorant and lower level human beings, who have indubitably a Napoleon syndrome. They have no moral guidelines or common courtesy when dealing with people. Albeit they are hired to collect a debt, however they treat individuals like horrendous creatures because of their inability to pay, or a misunderstanding about a bill. They have no tolerance nor try to understand the situation. Rude is an understatement, they have limited verbal abilities, no social skills, get angered and flustered all to easy, yell and hang up the phone. These are obviously little or non educated people who landed a job in a field where they cannot differentiate between assertiveness and extortionist, or simply enjoy the "control" they think they have, and the feeling of perverse power to speak to openly cruel to people.They lie and say they have attempted to contact you, and have not, now with the days of caller ID this easily found out. They treat people in a demeaning, assaulting, and slanderous way, they play personal attacks on the integrity of people by being able all to easy to effect their credit score, now try to get that off your trw, its not that easy, even for a incorrect billing error, but they do not care.  This company would be better suited to be henchmen for a mob loan shark. They should in no way be able to communicate and contact "regular Joe's" who are working hard if not struggling to make ends meet. I don't know how to stop them, but I will do all I can do. This is what America is coming to, be afraid, be very afraid, but don't give in to, we have to fight this for our next generation, we must give them a kinder world. God bless America, we need it more than ever now.

They called my girlfriend on her cell phone in the day and then again at 8 P.M. looking for me.  I never gave them my girlfriend's cell phone number.

Keeps calling everyday at dinner time. All members of my family have answered at one time or another, but each time we pick up the phone nobody says anything. I am reporting to the FTC.

Call received the information given was contradictory and misleading. Caller implied that he had been retained by my ex-wife, divorced some ten years ago, separated and divorced for more than fifteen years. Clear violation of the FDCPA to use false and misleading statements in an attempt to collect a credit card debt.

Called my cell phone.  Left no message and I did not answer.  My husband took classes from Central Texas College when he was in the military, but that was years ago and all paid for by Uncle Sam.  We weren't even married at that time and I did not have that cell phone number.  Can't imagine why a collection agency would call about that!
