I have a deferment on my loan but Great Lakes edu doesn't seem to care, they call me anyway. #Catch 22
(608) 246-1550
Great Lakes wants their money from someone...
(608) 246-1550
Only a recorded message. Not a human. No information given as to the nature of the call.

I think its Great Lakes.

Great Lakes keeps calling even though I have told them they have the wrong person. We have talked to someone at Great Lakes 3 times in the past 4 days, twice today alone. I told them that I have never had a student loan. I never went to college. I don't have children in college. I don't have any kids. They have been told that they have the wrong person and I have asked them to stop calling my home. The latest time was this afternoon at 2:30. Then again at 4:51 and again at 5:07! They were told to stop calling here. I have filed a complaint about them. They have been calling our number sometimes several times a day. When I pick up the phone it is an automated call - no human. If it doesn't stop soon I will seek legal advise.
(608) 246-1550
They continue to call my cell phone after repeated requests that they stop.

It's Great Lakes Higher Education Guarantee Corporation. If they're calling you, it's regarding a student loan that you or someone else borrowed through another lender in cooperation with the Department of Education. They're not a collection agency, but if you don't prevent your loan from defaulting, they will refer you to a collection agency. The best thing to do is call them back and make arrangements. You can never have a student loan discharged unless you die, and believe me, you don't want a federal student loan to go into default! They garnish wages, seize your tax refunds, and prevent you from taking out student loans in the future.

I have been getting daily calls from different area codes that are identified as from Great Lakes Edu. From some of the other comments, I gather they are about student loans, and my last student loan was paid off forty years ago.

I get this call at least once per day... no one on the other end. No message. I believe it could be Great Lakes...I do have a Student Loan from them.... I think we need humans back on the other end.
