Your apartments are awful , windows and doors leak so much air its a waste of time to run the heat....movin out ..i would never tell anyone to move into alpine village .....

We have lately received  multiple calls from this 614.252.4689 number. Odd message was left  (read below for specifics.) A little checking thru web data bases shows this number in Columbus (Franklin) Ohio.  Several credit/collection agencies are in this area.  OUR Caller ID shows up as this 614.252.4689 Number w/ the name displayed as "CONFIDENTIAL  S".  Could be s****ed number, but I don't think so.

The "caller" (a young-sounding male voice trying to sound "official" or "menacing" or "important" ) eventually leaves a message on voice mail / answering ma****e asking for a callback - but the CALLER only leaves an 800 number for call return.  

When you dial an 800 / 866 / 877 / 888 /number, you loose any privacy feature you may have on your line!

You can "block" your caller ID but when you dial an 800 number, YOUR NUMBER IS ALWAYs DISCLOSED TO THE OWNER OF THE 800 NUMBER. Sometimes it is shown to them in real time, and other companies provide calling numbers to the 800 Number on a monthly basis.  But rest****ured that when calling an 800 number, you do not have any privacy regarding your then calling number.

*The theory is the owner of the 800 Number is paying for the call and has a right to know who the caller is since they are paying for it. 800 Numbers are free to the CALLING party but they are NOT free to the CALLED PARTY WHO OWNS THE 800 NUMBER!  BEWARE of NO PRIVACY no matter if you have Line caller id blocking or dial a code to block your number from being displayed to the called party (known as "caller ID Blocking").

It does NOT EVER BLOCK YOUR CALLING NUMBER IF YOU ARE DIALING  an 800 / 888 /866 / 877 / 888 area code number.

If it is "toll free" or a "free call" to you, the called party can and will get your number either instantly or on his/her billing statement for that month. Often large companies get their bill and call detail on disk and can easily run their "billing info disk" a***nst a computer log of dialed calls by all agents - thus mat****g your number (should you call back) a***nst a file number or agent,or some computer record of the outgoing calls made.

BOTTOM LINE IS: IF YOU DON"T WANT YOUR NUMBER DISCLOSED OR VERIFIED FOR COLLECTORS / COLLECTION AGENCIES - then DO NOT EVER CALL THEIR 800/888 numbers from your own phone (cell or land or void) number.

USE a PAY PHONE OR better yet, don't call them at all.  If you call from a friends house and they can figure out that the number is 'close' geographically to you, they may only have 4 or 5 cases in your area and it's easy enough to call your friends number and ask for YOU!  Your unsuspecting friend or relative will then tell them (about half the time) "John Doe doesn't live her, but I of course I know him - he's a friend of mine. His number is:  *******.****.  And I think his cell number is *******.****.

A well meaning friend, trying to be helpful, has caused lots of problems for many people over the years. Be careful to tell your friends that 'some collection agency" is hounding you and if your friend should get a call from someone asking about you- then tell the caller they never heard of you. Don't know anyone with that name or so****ing similar. Once it's said, there is no use talking to the collector any longer. Just say "good day" and **** up!  If they call back, do not talk to them any further!
