This is a sales pitch done through an automated dialer program. The computer dials the phone number before an operator is available. The program running the computer estimates the time each operator takes per call and tries to have a call ready for the operator when he/she is available. If you do answer the call I recommend waiting to get a person to tell them to bugger off.

I finally answered the phone (most times they called I was upstairs giving my toddler a bath), and they tried their Comcast sales spiel on me - I interrupted the guy, informed him that they've been calling me every night and not leaving a message, that I'd called them and left them a message asking them not to call and that I'd registered each complaint with the Do Not Call registry. This possibly may be a faux Caller ID and not Comcast; however, registering your telephone number at www.donotcall.gov and registering a complaint each and every time a call is received will annoy the right people.
