This phone number is assigned to MagicJack.com. It is being used by Asian scammers to trick people into giving up their credit card information over the phone. They will say that you are due a refund of $270 for some anti-virus software you purchased last year. They say the company is going out of business so they are giving back the money. They won't be able to tell you much about who you are such as the last 4 digits of the CC or a transaction number from the bank. They also say they can't issue a refund to the same card. If you didn't BUY any software last year you will know this is a scam, but if you did you might be fooled. They are VERY pushy and will argue with you at length to get you to comply. Don't do it and report the call to [email protected] and to the FTC at 1-888-382-1222. MagicJack told me it was their number but not assigned to a customer. The problem is that I could call the number and talk to the same scammers who tried to argue with me again...! Before reporting it to MagicJack.com try calling the same number and make sure it works.
