This number has been calling me every day for the past couple weeks . I usually don’t answer to numbers I don’t know so I let it roll to voicemail. They left a an automated voicemail telling me it was from Verizon and that I needed to call a 800 number back immediately to discuss changes to my account and that I needed to enter a reference number. We hear of so many scams, especially as technology evolves. So I was very suspicious of this and instead of calling the number they gave me, I called *611 to reach customer service from my Verizon phone. Customer service confirmed everything is good with my account, that there are no changes and last time anyone from Verizon called me was a month and a half ago. At this point I’m pretty sure that “reference number” they asked me to enter on that voicemail is actually a command to give malicious people access to my money or information. So, if this happens to you, PLEASE call Verizon at *611 – DO NOT call any other number and DO NOT, under any circumstance, enter any “reference number.”
