The Adjustment Bureau verifies employment for the Banks and Credit Bureau's for Garnishment purposes. State Law states that for Garnishment there is no signature required by an employee. All they ask for is a generic Yes or No if the person is a current employee. That way personal information such as salary or dates are not given. If a company does not want to give that information, that is up to them. Unless the company states the employee is no longer employed or never was employed, the Adjustment Bureau then sends the information over to the Banks and Credit Bureaus so that an official Garnishment paper will be sent. State Law requires all companies to obied by Garnishment papers. If a company cannot tell the Adjustment Bureau a simple no this person no longer or does not or yes they do work here then it's up to the Banks a Credit Bureau's to determine if an official Garnishment letter will be sent or not.

No, it is not a collection agency, it is a company who collects information for collection agencies. If it was for a company offering a credit product such as a loan or credit card, they would be requesting more information & would include an authorization from the person requesting credit. They called our company requesting info on a past or present employee as mentioned above. I REPEAT - THEY ARE WORKING FOR THE COLLECTION AGENCY, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT ONE THEMSELVES!

THIS IS NOT A COLLECTION AGENCY. IF THEY WERE THEY WOULD HAVE TO STATE IN THE BEGINNING OF THE CALL THAT IT WAS AN ATTEMPT TO COLLECT A DEBT. DUH! THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF ANY INCOME OR $$ THAT YOU OWE ALL THEY DO IS VERIFY THE EMPLOYMENT STATUS FOR INDIVIDUALS FOR CREDIT PURPOSES. IF YOU APPLY FOR CREDIT THEY ARE ONE OF THE MANY THIRD PARTY COMPANIES THAT CALL TO VERIFY WHAT YOU PUT DOWN FOR YOUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT IS CORRECT. ESPECIALLY IF IT HAS TO DO WITH A LOAN FOR PERSONAL OR CAR PURPOSES.

Fax from "Adjustment Bureau" requesting confirmation of employement with employee name and SSN. A***n, no signed consent so we do not process. I hate these generic company names - and their shady tactics. They should just be up front about what they are doing. We just ignore the faxes and, if the person is an employee, let them know that someone is requesting info.

Carrie Johnson with "Adjustment Bureau" called then faxed sheet requesting confirmation of employment, gave name and SSN, but has no signed doc from employee authorizing this request. Company policy prohibits any release of information without the employee authorization. Must be a COLLECTION AGENCY, this seems to be their new tactic.

Adjustment Bureau - wants to know if an individual works here; just yes or no, they have the SS#
