This number, the same as several ***dred others, has been attributed to Portfoliorecovery. Portdoliorecovery has never ever left a message but has dialed my cellphone number sometimes as high as 20 times a day. It is very unusual that the number they use to call my cell is always very similar to a recent number that has called my cell that day. Sometimes the number is only one number off from the number of a medical or governmental agency who I am waiting to hear back from. When I have answered the call often no one answers the call and all I hear when it is picked up is a series of mechanical sounds that could be a line being switched to another. There have been numerous times that I have answered the unknown number and it is a person speaking Mandarin or some foreign language and keeps repeating itself. A***n as I have said here before the number has never identified itself as being affiliated with any agency or person. The calls are a nuisance and appear to have some type of tracing system monitoring my incoming or dialed calls. Several numbers used were actually numbers used in the past by my former employer or those of my legal team. I feel this is type of calling is an invasion of privacy and a nuisance. I use a service to identify these incoming calls and they all go back to Portfoliorecovery IF they can be traced at all. The calls often follow a scheduled plan and are made the same time everyday that I have not dialed or received a call. A***n the number is annoyingly more than coincidentally similar to a call I have just received or dialed. I once and only once ever received a call that I answered immediately and I demanded of the dialer to know who was calling calling. The caller in turn demanded to know all my personal information and I kept asking who was calling and eventually the caller got angry and used bad language containing threats and ***g up. A voice in the back ground sounded as if it was prompting the caller to what to do. What has been interesting is the calls have increased on legal holidays calling very early and continuing until late into the evening. The weeks I make or receive no legitimate personal calls is when the incoming nuisance calls are made from landlines that have been traced directly to a landline number identified as Portfolio Recovery. When the number is returned at a later date there is a mechanical answer consisting of a click and a lot of air time and a disconnect. There is more to this story that has been going on for approximately seven years. Once I answered a late evening call and was asked for a relative who was dead for many years. I stated only that no one by that name was not at the number dialed . I was asked who I was and what was my name, relationship and my social security number. Replied with you provide me your personal information and maybe we could provide information about the the person who you are asking about. Tactics go on and on and I have no business with Portfoliorecovery that I am aware of. I can only hope this harrassment will end when I enter into a long term care facility. Never received a text or a paper notice and my attorney could be correct that this is a spammer and just ignore the harrassing calls. I did once ask the caller to cease an desist.
