Got a call from someone representing herself as calling form AT&T Cellular customer service, calling about a problem I am having with poor cell signal. This person identified herself as an AT&T employee for the past year, using this number. Her solution was to offer me a free micro-cell to connect to my wireless network. All I had to do was pay the shiping, $9.95, for which I would be charged $9.95, which I would have to pay on my credit card now. I asked her to send it COD - she refused. I asked her to ship it to the local AT&T store. Again she refused, saying I would have to pay $200 if picked up at the store. I had researched her number prior to calling her and found it tied to a site listed on Rip Off Reports and others as being Teleport Communications, Murietta, GA. and being involved in attempting to get people to pay bills they were not responsible for. This person never identifed herself as a Teleport Communications employee. Be cautious and do not give out a credit card number to a stranger.
