Tells you to stay on line for important business call then disconnects about 20 seconds later... is this some kind of telecommunication terrorist tactic?

I get this number calling me. Each time when I pick up the phone I get an automated message to wait for the next agent regarding an urgent business matter. Then when someone comes on the phone I greet them with a hello and they hang up.

Received call at 12.10 PST today. Hung up after hearing "This is an urgent business matter, please hold  ......"

Keeps calling and calling, most of the time when I answer, there is hold music asking me to wait for the next available pesona to speak about a very important business matter. The otherday I actually stayed on the line, only to be hung up on. Today they called again and left a voice message for "Dennis" even though I clearly say my name on my voicemail! So frusterating!

They keep calling i have no voicemail so they cant leave a message.. I know nothing is in collections... do i bother calling them?? My number is private how did they get it?

If this number continues to call, turn the number over to the police...They can be charged with abuse of the phone lines, and with harassment....Also see another note I wrote about reporting to the Do Not Call Registry Complaint line....

ya i think it is the agency telus uses. thay left me a message of some strange techno song, than about a minute of very creepy heavy breathing...what the hell?

I am sick of these phone calls every day and no one answers.

I have gotten four strange messages from this number.. the first two were people calling claiming they were a bank and asking about a claim filed against "John" who was suppose to me me.  A third one was some beatbox song, and the fourth was a very confused man asking about a sound... all in a matter of a week? This was all from the same number.. 7783289993

They keep calling me, I keep telling them they have the wrong number and there is not any Mr. Roy that lives here. They harrass and swear at me and hollar pay your F***ing bills. This is sick. They should be arrested for calling random people in the middle of the night and giving them heart attacks!

I called them back using an IP address as my number...(though i'd mess with them a bit) they asked me alot of questions...mostly being why I was calling them. I told them it was a wrong number dial... I was looking for blah blah... they would not tell me who they were though I asked a few times and said things like "did (make up name here) put you up to this"?? "it would be just like (same) to get his secretary to do this to me" They wouldn't dish any info... I kept at it. they eventually hung up on me... Her name was Jenn and she spoke with a clear asian dialect....

They use many different numbers, this is CBV collections.  It seems that Telus uses this account to collect on old debts. Be careful when closing a Telus account, if you move and they don't have your new address etc... they let it sit and then turn it over to CBV collections, again it sits and you find out most of the time when you apply for credit somewhere... it then shows up on your credit report.  Telus needs to get a better handle if you are owing money on an account when it closes.

in addition; TALKED TO MY POLICEMAN HUSBAND, report this to police; the REASON THEY DO NOT TAKE MONEY ORDERS is most are trying to get you to give them your credit card numbers; they likely can't cash a money order; and if they refuse payment, their is a legallity you don't owe; but after a certain number of years; can't remember if it is 6 or 7 years, the debt goes dead if they have had no communication; check this out with govt. BUT THIS IS A SCAM - CALL THE POLICE this is likely a portable throw away cell number

for a debt I don't have; impossible to have and the male caller did not know how to respond professionally to me; THIS IS A SCAM AND I AM CONTACTING POLICE

Ive been getting calls from them for at least two years.  They just called again, I called back and gave the woman an earful about my daytime minutes and workman hours Ive had to waste.  They have been looking for a man called Xiang.  They took me off the list, but they told me that a year ago, too.  Im going to find out where they are located and write a letter.  Maybe paper will work better than yelling......

Called and played screeching music used a seductive voice and asked for "male name" then hung up

Keeps calling asking for Pamela every day- and leaving messages when clearly our voicemail tells them who lives here- and then I asked her politely to stop calling she was rude and said I should have called her back to tell her that no one by that name lives there.

This is the Collections Agency that Telus uses.

So i have a past debt .... I really didn't know about it until like 3-4 months ago. I have communicated with them over and over. Telling them that I am unemployed and i have NO money . Soon as i got back to work i would start to make payments. So i now they call and I ask that when i make payments to have it reported on the credit bureau. I wanted this in writing. NO go Got to talk to DAN THOMPSON a supervisor , who called me a "professional" Like I was a criminal who does this every chance i get. Hollered and swore and told me to "pay it pay the bill now" And then hung up on me. CAn't get a hold of anyone to complain. So it's ok to call people names and hang up like kids. Now the office is in Vancouver, wonder if they allow face to face meeting?

I paid of this debt in september they have started calling my work and at home. I called them back today saying this has been paid the rep started screaming saying I don't believe you your lying show me proof then hung up on me. I called right back talked to another rep said I was hung up on and I have paid this and if they continue to call me I will sue them for harrasment. This whole ordeal was very upseting since I made the call from the pay phone at work and people at work now know tha they are calling

These people are the stupidest people in the world My gf had a debt with telus is was around 350 she didnt pay it because we forgot about when we moved from bc to alberta anyways didnt hear anything from telus even tho we put a change of adress in and switched our DL's to alberta but CBV sure found her fast telling her she owed over 800 dollars I told her to tell them to f-off and told her to tell them my lawyers phone number she decided to use her accountant instead anyways two days later the debt was 430 IF she paid within a week seeing as how the orig debt was 350 430 seemed reasonable so she sent them the money via bank transfer The bank screwed up the account number and that took a few days to sort out CBV was notified and they were fine with it so when it all got sorted out we resent the money and this time TRIPLE checked the account number 4 days later there was a mysterious 430 dollars back in the account so we checked up and found out CBV had sent the MONEY BACK!! well we have reciepts saying we paid them but now they phone and phone and phone say they are going to sue I cant wait for that we have reciepts saying it was paid and saying they sent the money back now i dont know about you but the way i see it i gove you 400 bucks its yours if you decide to give it BACK to me? its now MINE

This number calls us once or twice a day at work. SO ANNOYING. There's never anyone there.

Answer the phone as business - caller hangs up. Answer the phone with Hello, and music starts playing as in hold line music.

1-778-328-9993 = must be a collection agency - they left me on hold (a blank space of about 2 minutes) and I hung up. WTF? Mayhaps it's an automated dialer and if there aren't any people in the call centre (because they are all watching the Flames trying to win the 7th game of the series tonight!!!???)= then you get nothing after the message that asked you to wait for someone....??? VERY ANNOYING!!

This number calls us daily.  We ended up finding out that they are CBV Collections -- a collections agency based somewhere in the Vancouver area.
