About 780 Area Code:
The 780 area code encompasses the northern two-thirds of Alberta, including Edmonton, Fort McMurray, and Grande Prairie. This region is undergoing a period of significant transformation, marked by noteworthy projects and investments. In Edmonton, the focus on technology and innovation has intensified. Edmonton region’s tech sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, according to the 2023 Canadian Venture Capital Private Equity Association fourth-quarter report. In 2023, Edmonton scored $188 million in investment.
Much of the expansion is due to Edmonton’s status as a leading research and education hub, supported by prominent educational institutions like the University of Alberta. Traditionally known for its oil sands operations, Fort McMurray is pivoting towards sustainability. In January 2024, local business leaders worried that labor shortages would hurt the city’s economy, but hoped that a proposed $16.5-billion carbon capture pipeline project could spur a boom. Grande Prairie is also making headlines with its major infrastructure projects. The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Expansion is a prime example, involving an investment of $600 million. This expansion will introduce new facilities and advanced medical equipment, aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the region’s growing population and enhancing overall service delivery.

This number call me and ask for money
Rotary number from the Misercordia Hospital in Edmonton. If you call no one will ever answer.
I received a few calls from someone at this number who said I had won an "annual Disney vacation for 2" and that she needed some more information - she said I had "registered" for this through my email account - I do enter contests, so maybe one of these was a scam - but I did not give her any additional information at all - I asked the last one that called what the name of the company was that she was calling from and she said "UNITED" ; I said "United WHAT?" she said "just United". and then proceeded to tell me taht I was in good standing with my Visa card and I told her I didn't have one - which I don't, then I ***g up. I wonder who these people are - I heard kids in the background - I asked her where she was calling from and she said "Tampa FLorida". Its some kind of scam I'm sure.
Same situation here with a couple different numbers. Disney Vacation won which I 'applied through email account' If anybody knows how to stop them please share!

Ok so this number called a***n, later the same day. This time it was a lady telling my I was one of the 3 % to receive this special trip offer. Florida, Ba*****, Mexico etc. I asked her what the catch was and of course you had to pay $200 per person blah, blah, blah. I asked her if this was a Ramada thing and she claimed to not know what I was talking about and then I simplified the question and asked if it was a time share deal and she replied there is no time share purchase nessesary. I ask her three times over and she had the same reponse. I think this is one of those scams and once she s****ed getting rude because I was not giving in, I just ***g up. They have not called back.
I was a recording: "hello, we have a package to be shipped out to you, please hold for your confirmation number" then there was a click and that was that. No number given! Strange no?
This is a collection call from Total Credit Recovery - the last 3 digits are a direct to agent extension.
Total Credit Recovery in Edmonton. Yeah, I owe money but can't pay. Oh well!!
They called but didn't leave a message, when we tried to call back no one answered the number.
They called my home and spoke to my girlfriend. When she asked what it was about she was told it was regarding an appointment and then they ***g up on her.
The text message I received from this number was “ Are you at home or going out today?” which is concerning.
Extortion and threatening
They wanted to give me 40% off my plan for 24 months. Took my email and then sent me an sms verification to my cell phone and asked for me to share it. I denied sharing it and they tried to****ure me that this is procedural. I asked for her to verify she’s an actual Bell Sales Representative and she said she could do it after she received the verification code.
