I called the number, a recording said we have a gift for those over 50--If you are over 50 press 1 if not press 2, I did neither and the line went dead.

Correction to previous submission: I just got a call from 800-300-02454from apparently India, claiming he had to show me a problem with my service on my computer. I asked what service and he said just to sign into my computer. He then told me to press CONTROL, WINDOWS KEY, and R key so he could fix the problem. I kept asking him what that would do, and he kept saying to just do it -to type the key sequence in. I kept him on the phone do, asking questions and while I had him on the phone I Google what would happen if I did as he requested. When I googled it came up as a scam that would do things not good to my computer. I kept asking what company he was with and he said AOL. I told him that was not my internet service provider, had the wrong number, and that he was scamming people, then hung up on him. Warning! Some scammers will call and say you have a virus or whatever and that they will 'help' you 'fix' it (they will upload a virus to your computer). If they will ask you to push the Windows Key and R at the same time., don't do it. Don't run whatever they tell you. Do NOT do what they say, they steal your information! Most importantly, report them to: [email protected], and ftc.gov/complaint
