They would not identify why they were calling. I asked them to send me a letter and they said that the did [never happened]. Very annoying as I asked what this was about and they insisted that I give my name.

She said if you acknowledge you are J***** please "Do not hear this message for others to hear"...etc. For my husband to call her back because this is a personal matter. ?? What the hell? Why??

Said they were trying to collect a debt. No debt here- credit reports are clean. Scammers.

Can't this come up with some better phoney names?   Carol Ford, Jody Murphy, Nicky Clark.   That sounds whiter than a loaf of Wonder Bread....WTF is this a Leave it to Beaver episode?     Today's USA is ethnically diverse people.   Get some hispanic names in there.  Some Asian names.  Some exotic ethnic names.  Then maybe we'll believe you're a real person when you call.Until then.    This is Ralph Kramden saying, to the moon Alice! This is the 8th time in a year they have called my number and my mother's # looking for my brother.  He hasn't lived here in almost a year.  We have told them repeatedly not to call us, they still do even when I give them my brother's number.  Knowing him, it probably is a collection agency or one of those consolidate your debt places he hasn't paid.  Yes, they say personal business.

Vote out your current US congress(wo)man and senator, put in new blood, and demand they regulate credit card/bank loans so they cant keep gutting people with endless doubled and tripled fees when you run into trouble. They make SOOOOOOOOOOO much money on credit accounts it is incredible. When they sell them off to collection agencies it is often for 50% of the amount owed.. and THEY STILL MADE MONEY OFF YOU.   Regulate banks   limit credit interest rates and stop UNFAIR bank rip-off policies like being able to change the terms on their whim, ELIMINATE "universal default" - where they all up your interest rates when you are late on JUST ONE account...  finally, 18% is the HIGHEST it ever should get... charging people who are in difficulties 29.99% with late fees and over limit fees is EVIL.

What people need to know is that they cannot call you with a 'fake' name, like the ones shown in other calls.  They MUST give you THEIR names - the actual employee working that is calling you. They don't, and that is against fed regs as well.  Report them.  For instance, there is another collection company that just got busted for using that 'scheme' - their excuse?  they don't want their employees harassed at home.  Well - too bad.  They took the job in collection knowing they are doing a job that most will not appreciate.  It's called a job risk.  Either way?  it's against the fed laws and they will be the ones busted for it.

Jody Murphy called.  She left a message stating that it was a personal business matter and not a telemarketer or credit card company.  She also left the business hours.  I called after hours after I had recieved the message.  The voice message did not state the company just the business hours.
