A "Don Murphy" with a heavy middle-eastern accent calls from "Gibson Law" in Seattle and just says to return the call the second I get the message. If I don't return the call then "good luck" to me.

This is definitely part of a phone scam which has been going on for over a year in the US. Apparently, the caller is using VOIP service and Pac West Phone lines to perform the scam. The caller is using two different schemes: 1 ) Portraying themselves as a law firm collecting on a fraudulent payday loan which was never sent/requested/received; and, 2) (The latest version) Portraying themselves as a Microsoft Technical Service employee who is calling to correct error messages they are supposedly getting from your computer. You should report this number to PAC WEST Telecomm by emailing: [email protected] immediately. Make sure that you explain what the caller is saying in their message.

This "Indian" man just called me and informed me that they are receiving viral emails from me and continued to go on. I interrupted him and informed him that I worked in IT and wanted to know how he was able to trace my email to my IP to my home phone number and know that it was in fact MY email...and asked him what kind of scam they are trying to pull. He hung up on me.

Caller left two messages demanding that I return his phone call "the second you get this message." Apparently, I'm being sued for non-payment of debt. News to me. I just ignored the calls. For the time being, they've stopped.

Caller said he was from Microsoft and that they had detected a problem on my computer and that he would get rid of it for me. He had a heavy accent, hard to understand.
