This phone number was used in an attempt to impersonate Capital One’s Fraud Prevention service. The caller had an incorrect but similar version of the recipient's name and inquired about a suspicious $400 charge in Miami, which the recipient did not make. Despite asking if the recipient was traveling, the caller did not request any personal information. Verification with Capital One's actual fraud department revealed the call to be fake.

Claimed to be "Capital One Fraud Prevention", and knew an incorrect, close version of my name, asking if I made a $400 charge in Miami (that is 3,000 miles away from me), and asked if I am traveling. I said no to both, but of course I gave ZERO personal info to them (and surprisingly, they didn't ask any personal info). --- Then I ***g up and called the real Cap One Bank Bank using the phone number on the back of my card, and the Bank's real fraud department said the call was FAKE. --- I can't imagine what they got out of that. Very weird.
