The owner of this number is the division of HSBC Bank that administers Orchard Bank Mastercard. The call I received from this number was legitimate, as I do have a credit card with them and had recently filed a dispute on an unauthorized charge. I don't know if they also place debt collection calls from that number, but it is not a telemarketing number and it is not DirectTV!

I received a message from 831-755-6699 but I didn't call back using the phone #s given in the message, rather I called HSBC back directly using the 800 phone # on the back of my credit card. It wasn't a scam, someone was fraudulently using my credit card and HSBC was calling to verify the transactions. I was able to close the account before more damage was done.

When I came to this site I see that the location is listed as "Salinas, CA" the home of DIRECTV whom I am actively trying to file a legal suite a***nst for charging me a bogus late cancellation fee. If this is DIRECTV and they were calling me about the suite I am filling please tell them not to bother that the suite will go ahead as planned and I am looking to include it in a class action lawsuite.

Got a call from 831-755-6699 with a **** up. Calling back got a msg. "the number you dialed is not in service". Guess what, this is not a phone company msg. but their msg. - so call them back a***n and a***n to tie up their phones. Better still if you have a fax call their 831-755-6698 with your fax ma****e and send them a little so****ing or perhaps a lot of so****ing. Maybe we little people can fight back this way. Rec'd a call from this number and they are a call center handeling disputes with several credit card companies. I have an disputed charge with HSBC and they had all the info that had been sent to HSBC and also the call back # to reach them, which I confirmed, is the customer # listed on my card. They did not ask for any numbers from me, but when I asked to verify my claim # with HSBC they had the correct # which they gave to me.
