They call twice everyday, automated recording "this is an attempt to collect"... The message is for someone who had this number before me. After speaking to several live agents, I told each one that this is a new number, wrong person. They would say ok, "delete" the number from the account. Next day, received a call from the same company just different number in regards to the same person. Called back raising hell at whomever answered, to no avail, they won't give up.

Asked for someone at our office, the man didn't know who it was so I asked what it was regarding and she told me she was not telling me, and I asked her again and she said she wasn't going to disclose that information to me and then I told her that our employee didn't know who she was so she got mad and hung up on me. She was very very rude.

This stupid lady named Ms. Jackson continues to call my home asking for my husband claiming that he owed a school loan from over 9 years ago. My husband has no clue what she is talking about and we have asked her nicely to send a bill so that we can review what they are claiming. She refuses to even hear us out and continues to call and be so unprofessinal I even spoke with a manager and himself as well was very low class. They call here from different numbers all the time now and even one of the names on my caller id say souhtwest and it's them. Something needs to be done about this company they are not proffesional and have a really bad report with the BBB.

They call several times a week telling me to call them back about a serious debt matter. Well, if it was really that serious, why do I have to call back? Sounds like a scam to me. I received a call from this number on my cell phone.  I am current on any payment I have and there is no reason for a debt collector to be calling me.  I from time-to-time get calls at the same number and on my home phone for people that I have never heard from.  I have never been able to reach a live person when attempting to call 832-476-1739 back.  The authorities need to find out who the person or persons are that are making these calls and prosecute them.

We got a call from this number and said that it was a debt collector. After reading all this information we are not calling back. I know we dont own any money and we have access 24/7 to our credit report.

This company called my fiance today. He answered the phone but when he did it just said to call back their number. He called and left a message. He has not received a call back yet! He has no debt! We just ran his credit report recently to make sure everything has been cleared up and it has!

They called on 9/19/09 at 11:38 AM. I do not know this number and they do not leave a message.

I am listed with the do not call and have been for two years. These guys should be fined. ID says unavailable. A rude"Marcus" called asking for a person not even living at this address. When told that, he said,"If you are___ why don't you talk to me?" I told him to stop calling knowing they are scam artists; this is the third call from them (Avanti or Avante) from three different callers- Joanne, ___, and now Marcus. I have filed complaints each time with the Do Not Call Registry.

Trying to collect bogus medical charges from 3-4 years ago. Insurance Denies the charges as duplicates and previously paid invoices.

They didn't even bother to have a real person call and leave me a nasty message. All I got was a recorded message saying "you have an unpaid debt... there will be consequences." I have only been living on my own for a few years and have only switched untilities once. I know all my balances and have no outstanding debts besides my mortgage, utilities, and cell phone - all of which i pay only and get e-bills for. If I had an outstanding balance I would have been contacted directly. I would suggest contacting the local authorities in Houston if they call you. Sounds similar to phishing to me for identity theft.

They say they are collecting a debt but when asked for more specifics on the debt the cannot provide any documentation to support there claims. They keep calling and really need to stop unless they can provide documentation to support their claim.

I called back and hung up on Reuben Gonzalez because I am ick and tired of getting this phone calls. The company wont do anything about it, the FTC wont do anything about it, and Im not paying Verizon to change my number because they should do it for free. I should not have to pay for text messages and have companies cold calling and clogging my voicemail since I have been on the National Registry's Do Not Call List for over a year now. So pretty much the List is useless if you aren't the owner of your cell phone number for your entire life. Apparently the idiot before me signed up for everything and anything with this number and now I have to pay the price. I am going to be a rude SOB to these people until they stop calling

These folks keep calling asking for someone not at our house. So, tonight, I started asking them questions, who they are, why ther're calling, etc...and they didn't like it and said they can only tell the person they were calling for. So, I told them to take my number off the call list and they caller got rude. I demanded to speak to her supervisor. Reuben Gonzalez got on and I told him doesn't get to call my house and ask questions w/o telling me the purpose of the call. he said this was the number the person had provided. I received two hang up calls in an hour with no messages. I called the number back until a representative answered (The first time I called I received a voice mall and the second time, immediately after the first, I got a person). It was supposed to be for my mother-in-law, who has never lived at this number. I told the person that and she said she didn't understand why I was receiving the automated "hang-up" calls as I was listed as a contact. So, the "hang-up"  is an automated thing, for whatever purpose that may serve. She was pleasant until I asked to be removed from the calling list and then she snapped "All right, all right, let me FIND it," by which she meant my number, apparently it was a difficult 1 second time consuming task...Then said that she would list me as calling back, she didn't say that I wouldn't be called again, and that was it. We'll see.

I also just rec'd a call and when I answered, they hung up.  What's with the fake telephone calls all the time?  I kept getting one from the Amer Heart Assoc. with different numbers and finally called them and asked to be removed.  Apprently the call registry doesn't work on so many of these fake clls.  But, I sure don't understand their efforts, especially when they hang up.

3 years ago my girlfriend had an over due cell bill. She paid it off.3 Years later these people start calling her work, saying they want her new address, saying that she still owes for the exact thing she paid off (paid of "Sprint", and they have nothing to do with Sprint whatsoever).They say that we have to give them proof of having paid off the other item, or that they will NOT STOP calling. I tell them to go screw themselves and that I am not going to give them any of her info at all. It is identity theft.They call her at home, at her work, and her cell.We have filed an oficial report on them with out local police, and the FTC.gov.We are also working up a lawsuit against them for slander and identity theft. They have called her work and given out personal information to one of her managers, they harrass and continue to call even though asked not to, AND even though she lived in Texas 3 years ago, and we now live in Georgia, somehow they have managed to find her work, home, and cell number, which is illegal.I have also finally discovered their address through much work. someone just called my house from this company giving me information about a claim told me i opened a credit card in jan of 07 when i asked him to give me more information he hung up on me i called the number back and get the voicemail of someone different when i tried to get an operator it says one not found.

A few weeks have gone by...several more message left on home phone, which I simply delete. I could Block their #, but not worth paying the extra $ to phone company every month.  Then  today, another call to my office. I recognized the phone # right away so answered by just asking 'may I help you?'  The woman asked for me, and I told her 'I' was  not in, I asked to take a message, she got annoyed and asked for voicemail.  I transfered her to 'hold'. I've sent the cease & desist letters, they ignore them. They won't give me any detials, I'm not giving them any either.  Been there, done that...not playing their game any more.

Repeated calls, as evidenced by caller ID and answering machine, always looking for someone named Donald (no one by that name lives at our residence).  Tonight our daughter answered the phone, and gave it to me because she could not understand the caller.  I answered, explained no one lived here by that name, and he became very belligerent.  I directed him to never call our number again.  The FTC has been notified.

I've been called about ~30 times in the past 3 months by some firm in Texas, leaving messages saying that they are a collection agency, and that I MUST call back.  Since I KNOW I'm not in arrears on anything, I've ignroed them.  However, I got a new call, to a different number, simply asking me to call back.  I did: it was Avante ("Mrs George"), and got a recorder about calling back.  I then looked up the tell# on Google & found this website, explaining the scam or some-such via Avante.  BTW:  A credit-service check 3 weeks ago also shows me to be "squeaky clean", so Avante can just, well, I'll leave that unsaid:  YOU fill in the blank...

Two calls to my home in the past 2 fays, no name, no details, just voiemail recording, demaning I return the call. Now, 5 mins ago, I received a call at my 'office' from this #. The woman would not say if it was 'business relateed' (we can't take personal calls-recorded lines-finanical institution), but insisted on leaving her # to be called back. NOT!!!  Who are these jokers and don't they koe they cannot call your place of employment. They are about to be served with a nice Cease & Desist Notice.

the person that called me was a MR.FORD he continusly yelled at me and when i asked for a supervisor he refused and continued with his rants . after i returned his attitude yet just breifly he changed his tone though it was very short lived. he was calling about a trailer home that was sent back over three years ago. i have not heard anything about this matter since then. the BBB will be called and if another call is received from this company i will file harrassment on them.

I received a call from this company Avante saying that I owe $900.00 on a old $200.00 sprint phone bill. I am currently not working and when I asked for her name, she hung up on me. I call back and asked for a superviser and I told her the same and she got rude with me when I asked for her name She said it was Amy Jay " what a fake name this IS"  Then she babble on and told me to goto walmart and get a job then she hung up. I think I will try and call the Better Business Bureau in Houston and file a complant. I really do not think that Avante is allowed to haress people no matter what their siduation is.
