Legitimate! Had a charge declined because it was from an international company. Called the international company to re-run the charge and got the call from this number again saying they declined it again. Spoke directly with Simmons from the phone number on the back of my card and cleared it all up.

I would also like to add that the number is legitimate. I ordered fairly expensive drugs from a pharmacy and within an hour the fraud prevention service phoned me. I did not have a pen in hand and remembered only part of the number so searched google for the number and got this posting. The main Simmons number was closed since it was after hours so I called the 866-213-8631 number. An automated operator identified itself as Simmons Fraud Prevention Service and allowed me to choose to speak to a representative. He answered in a few moments, knew immediately who I was (caller id I guess) and asked me to confirm my identity and then described the amount and name of the pharmacy making the charge which I confirmed. I thanked them for their vigilance and that was that. I am very appreciative of this service, especially since someone in London, England tried to put several thousand dollars in charges on another of my cards this past Christmas Eve. I live in the U.S.

This IS a legitimate service provided by Visa to many credit card companies including Simmons First. They use it to verify internet purchases involving your credit card numbers. Relax people....Jeez!

F R A U D F R A U D F R A U DI also have Simmons First National Bank. The party left a message at 6:50 PM--they had our name and last four digits of Visa account. I called back, where automated phone tree wanted me to tell them the entire credit card number. I refused. Don't. On the back of my Visa card, there is a phone number listed so I called that number; nobody's there cuz it's after hours so call tomorrow. This is obviously fraudulent. Phoning an unverifiable phone number who asks for credit card number is a fraud. I used my Panasonic DECT 6.0 cordless phone to block this number. From now on, all the caller will get is a busy signal.F R A U D F R A U D F R A U D

It is not a legitimate number. I have called the bank and they said there is no problem with my transactions, though people from 866-213-8631 said it was a problem. Those people asked to provide my name and then - like they couldn't find it in their database - asked to provide the credit card #.It looks like a FRAUD, BEWARE!

This was a legitimate call from Simmons Bank Visa Fraud Protection. I only gave them my last name & they had the rest of my info. I had attempted a small internet purchase that was going through an overseas processor & the charge was declined. I decided to leave it declined and buy elsewhere. Simmons was just verifying with me that it was me attempting the transaction. I said it was but to leave the charge declined.

Received call from this number on 12/3/09 after 5 p.m. in the afternoon. Message said to call back and have my credit card number available. They were checking "recent charges to my Simmons First Visa Card that seemed suspicious".I went online and found nothing suspicious on my statement. Just thought I'd call to see how far they asked me to go.... went through the menu and waited for a customer service rep. Finally had a woman with an accent who clicked a few computer keys in the background and transferred me to someone else. The one she supposedly transferred me to seemed to sound the same as the first one... ?? odd... then she asked if my husband was available and said I was not a card holder and she couldn't talk to me. I'm standing there with a card in my hand... with my name on it. When I told her she was the fraud she got a little snippy with me and again accused me of not being a card holder. She said she was not with Simmons, but worked for Visa Fraud Prevention who worked for Simmons Bank. I asked her if she had Simmons Bank number and she quoted me the number that I had just dialed... the number for her "Visa Fraud Prevention Service. When I pointed that out to her, she argued with me and said I had called a different number... I know who I called! I hung up on her and called the 800 number on the back of my card to Simmons Bank and they were closed.... guess that's why they called me after 5 p.m.

Got a call this morning from 1-646-205-6800 with recorded message warning of unusual charges on the Simmons Visa card. They identified themselves as Simmons Fraud Prevention Services. I was instructed to call the same number 866-213-8631 and when I did another recoding came and instructed me to enter my credit card number. RED FLAG!! I called Simmons corporate number to find out if this was legit and they did not know but said they would check it out. The person I spoke to was from the "report a missing or stolen card" department. He said it sounded suspicious too.

This AM I had a voice mail that claimed to be from "Visa Fraud Prevention". Asking me to call 866-213-8631 regarding some need to verify recent account activity. I'm also with Simmons and they said it was regarding my Simmons credit card. The recording said to have my card number ready when I call. Any "service" asking me to give them my card number for anything makes me highly suspecious of them. And so I searched landing here. I was never planning to call them and will report this directly to Simmons. On my caller ID, the number showed as originating from name "800 Service" number "866-213-8631", same number they want me to call. But it's easy to FAKE to caller ID where the call actually came from. They called me today 5/28/2009 at 8:24AM.Good people are reporting this online to warn everyone.

recieved the automated call...they left a message. Brought me here to check it out to see if lagitimate. I have a Simmons Act. I checked my statement from 2 weeks ago and there were no charges against my acct. I am going to go straight to Simmons to check on things.I think this was a scam as well. Turns out the 4 digits of my act. were incorrect as well.
