The problem with the do not call list is the fact that once you place yourself on that list people think they will never get called again. However, if you go online or anywhere and give your contact information your number is free to sell to whomever will buy the info. Every company in the world will sell that information for money no matter what they say they'll do with it to you, there's no way to trace it back to a specific company. No more online transactions is the only way to stop the harassment.

Ordered something online that I saw on TV...and the calls began. Companies hire individuals to answer the 'as seen on TV' calls, so the same person might answer/make calls for many products. I called back to tell them not to call and the lady answered the phone with, 'Hello, Laura.' That irritated me more than the call. I'm not her friend. Lesson learned: Give a fake # when you order something.

The call is to tell you that your order is on its way and to try to get you to do a 14 day trial of some coupon program. I Just told him I wasn't interested in anything he had to offer I just Wanted them to stop calling. He apologized and told me he would put me on there internal No call list that would be effective in 24 hours.
