Just received a call saying harmful viruses had been tracked to my computer and had infected 67 others'."Charles Lewis," with a heavy accent, insisted I should follow instructions so he could help me identify the red errors and yellow warnings and he could clear up the problems for me. "Press the window and "R" keys simultaneously..... I pled ignorance and asked for a number so my son could call back. Was given #877-623-9180. Typed in Global Tech and the phone number to get this site!!! Thank you so much for being there!!!!

Got a call last evening from a heavily accented individual which I think was saying he was calling from Global Technology Co. and that his computer was showing that my computer was infected and sending out viruses. He continuned by saying that my computer was very close to crashing and that I needed to logon immediately so he could help me clean it up. Since I was having a hard time understanding his English I demanded that he pass the phone over to some who spoke 'ENGLISH' so I could understand what he was saying. He wasn't very willing to hand off the phone but eventually did to someone else who I couldn't understand very well either. After the third try I was connected to someone who I could somewhat understand as long as he spoke slowly. That person identified himself as someone from login4speed. I questioned him how he knew I had a virus, which computer was the offending computer (I have more than one device), and which company it was that he was subcontracted to do this for? He glazed over those and other questions and insisted that he was legit. I pretty much knew from the start that this was a phising scheme, but I wanted to see how far to push it before dollars were requested and/or they asked for permission to take over my computer. After thinking that he was frightening me by navigating me to some warning and error messages in the My Computer manage screen, he directed me to his webpage and asked me to type in a 6 digit code for them to clean up my computer. It was only until then that I drug out of him that there would be a cost to me for their work of anywhere between $50 and $129 and that it would take about an hour while I did something else. That is when I said I had an emergency and had to go. He said he would call back tomorrow and gave me the 877-623-9180 number. Seconds after I hung up, he called me back wanting me to put the code in so they could do their thing. I just laughed and hung up. Even if this was a legitimate company they should be shut down for their sales tactics. Don't get sucked into their scheme!

Oh my gosh! They just called me too. A guy with a thick accent named Ethan commanded me to log to my computer so that he can do a check up to see if the virus in my area has gotten into my computer. I asked who he worked for. He said it wa LOG in for Speed a Global Computer Computer. I told him I'd call back. He gave me 877-623-9180 and 626-239-3135. He then asked when I was going to call back. And that I should ask for him by name. Also if I didn't call back he would call me again. Wow man what a trip. Stay away......

Got a call tonight at my business regarding my computer was about to crash -- his name was Gary -- called from 877.623.9180. He told me that he was going to clean it up & he would need access. I asked him how he knew this; told him I had an IT department & his response was that my IT department knows nothing about this because his server tells him that my computer has viruses. I asked again how he knew this & if his server connects to my computer & monitors all I am doing? His answer was YES, and he can clean me up immediately. I asked if this was a sales call -- answer -- absolutely not! I asked again how he has access to my computer -- he responded with a lot of jibberish & I hung up. Total Fraud. I called back three times & no answer. AGAIN TOTAL FRAUD -- JUST HANG UP.

Just received two calls from this phone number. The first call was from a Kevin Smith with a thick accent and I asked him for his phone number to return his call and he gave 877-623-9180. Then I received a call an hour or so later from a woman with a thick accent and she said that my computer had a virus and she needed to help me fix it. I asked her who my internet provider was and she dodged my question and said she needed to fix my computer. I told her to take my number off their list. This is a scam.

I have their spiel on my captioning telephone. Sounds like accented foreigners are perpetrating a scam or worse. Notified the FBI of a possible cyber crime being perpetrated. 877-623-9180 is a a toll free number. Do not allow anyone to get into your computer from that organization. It is spam, malware, or pishing. .

My friend in Arizona just got a call to go to login4speed.com. It is a scam. I found this on the 4th link searching for login4speed:http://www.mikedolbear.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=95090It links to this article:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jul/18/phone-scam-india-call-centresThe caller gave a return phone number of 877.623.9180. The caller ID came up as 902.567.8434Even when we called them on being a scam, they denied it and gave her public address/phone number as some sort of confirmation.I feel bad for people who panic and don't use google-fu!

A person with the name Shane Wilson with a heavy accent called. When I asked where he was calling from. He replied the Virgin Islands. When I asked his telephone number he said it was 877.623.9180. He said that the computer had a problem. I looked at the screen and it said the it had a trojan horse. The next time he called while I was on the compter and again the same message appeared. It was very, very strange. I reported it to AT&T, to Norton Anti-Virus, and to the police.

I just got the same call. It was a man saying that computers in our area were crashing and that I had to do something on my computer. I told him I could not go to my computer because he called on my home phone. He then asked for my cell phone number (like I would give him that) and I said no, just give me a number to call you back on. I have not done that yet butI was wondering if anyone has and what their story is?

Got a call from this number. The woman, who told me her name was Jenny, had a thick accent. I finally got out of her that she was calling from a company called "Login Full Speed." She said I needed to upload my computer to her so she could "check for infections." She said if I didn't do this, my computer would crash within a week! I asked her if this was a sales call, and she said no. She then got snippy and said "We're trying to save your company." I was thankful that I didn't give them any information. She only knew my husband's name and our PO box number. She didn't know anything else, but kept fishing. Thankfully she gave me enough of a creepy feeling that I knew not to give any info. Instead, I questioned her. Most telemarketers give up, but she kept trying to dodge my questions, and keep me on the phone.I did call the number back, and they do answer "Login Full Speed," so I guess they aren't hiding.
