This place is a scam in my opinion. If you want to throw away your hard earned money, give it to the fallen officers fund.you can give through any local or state police department or court.

My wife and I both sleep in the daytime, have health problems, and have trouble sleeping. We are getting DAILY calls from N.A.M.I. at a very early hour. This disrupts our sleep, threatens our health and is a MAJOR nuisance. We were going to file charges (we are on a no-call list) but were advised to make an attempt to have the calls stopped before resorting to legal action.

NAMI called me earlier this year soliciting clothing and furniture. They called 6-7 times a day and would **** up on my answering ma****e. Anytime I picked up someone was there and I would ask to have my name removed. However, they kept calling anyway. Whenever I'd try to call back, a recording would say the line had been disconnected. They might be a great organization but why would they allow their workers to continually bug people who don't want to be called? This lasted for about 3 weeks. The calls finally stopped but guess what? I just had a call today--months after I thought I was done with this organization. This call s****ed off as an auto-message and then someone interruped it by picking up the line and began speaking. I'm going to keep records of every call this time!I also checked out the NAMI website at www.nami.org. I didn't see any mention of tangible items accepted for donation under "types of donations". However, a quick call to Carol Roy at the Memphis offc 877-40-7002 confirmed that they do have a thrift store in Memphis that accepts donations and that they do call the community periodically for donations. She was very nice and I explained to her that I would prefer NOT to be called anymore. She gave me the 458-2010 number to have myself removed and she also took my name/# for follow up, I guess (hope). We'll see if the last agent I spoke with this morning removes my name like I requested!

I have received 6 calls from this number and I want them to stop now!

I was receiving multiple, multiple calls daily from this number and talked with ***d in the Memphis Nami office. He said the group they were using was using an automatic dialer and that it was malfunctioning. The calls stopped. I just tried to call the Memphis office and the number is disconnected. I called the 458-2010 number and was told that they have taken over handling the calls for donations for Nami, and that they are in Georgia. There is still a local service that will pick up clothing, furniture, etc. locally if you call the number to set it up. I just want to say to everyone, please do not hold these previous problems a***nst NAMI as an organization. They do a lot of wonderful work for the mentally ill providing support groups for both patients and their families.
