I have received a few calls from this number as well. I have looked on a few of these info chat sites about this and have found that most likely it is a telemarketing company called Nucomm. Maybe one of these posters who apparently work for this company can explain to me than why these callers never leave messages!! I never trust callers with numbers i don't recognise who don't leave any kind of message at all. in this day and age we can't afford to. I am not suggesting they devulge all sorts of information but at least explaining who they are and requesting a call back would be better than nothing at all it seems like your trying to hid something when you don't.

I work for Nucomm International - now owned by and known as Transcom North America. I only ever worked in an outbound department once, for a brief time, to inform customers of a price increase before it took effect and find out if they accepted the new charges or not. (Usually I take inbound calls.) Believe it or not, they do not make unsolicited calls. While you may not have heard of them, you've probably heard of Cogeco, Comcast, Nestle, Nissan, Culligan, and a host of other companies that hire Nucomm to handle their call center needs. If you are contacted by this number, it is because you 1) opted to recieve information or take a survey from one of those companies and Nucomm is doing the follow-up, 2) you requested a call-back regarding an issue you had with a company and Nucomm is calling you back to help you with the issues you were experiencing, 3) you receive services from a company and Nucomm is attempting to contact you on behalf of that company to let you know about a change to the services you're receiving, (and they want to inform you before the changes take effect) or, 4) it is because you have services with a company and owe them money, and Nucomm is attempting to collect on their behalf. If you would like to stop receiving calls from them, you can either call back the 905 # and go to the do not call option, or if the information was time sensitive and you have an answering machine they will leave a toll-free, 1-800 call-back #; where you can both get the information you were being called about and request to be placed on their do-not call list, at which point you will be asked if you are requesting to be placed on the do not call list of the company Nucomm was working for when they called you as well. This would ensure that you are no longer contacted by any other call center working for that company, either. Nucomm is a 100% legitimate company that contacts you on behalf of the companies you use, and answers your calls when you contact those companies. According to Canadian law, their reps are required to state that they work for Nucomm (now Transcom) on messages, rather than the company they are calling for, since they are a third party. If you are contacted repeatedly it is only because the company Nucomm is working for requested that they make sure you receive the information they are trying to convey, and they have not yet successfully done so. They cannot legally leave a detailed message about the reason for their call in a lot of cases, because according to privacy laws they must make sure information is passed to the intended recipients, and no one else. This is also the reason they will ask you security questions - yes, they are contacting you, but they need to make sure that they are speaking with the correct person before giving the information they are calling about. It is unfortunate that it comes across as a possible scam or being deliberately vague to some people. It is actually the other way around - they have extremely tight security, and are very hyper-sensitive about respecting privacy laws and rights. If you read the article posted almost at the bottom of this comment list, about this # and scams, it explains that the company is legit. (They can contact you even if you're on the national do-not call list, if you agree to be contacted by a company they represent. this is why they have their own do not call option)Hope this helps!

They are calling me and asking to verify my birthdate and birthplace! Collection agencies should know you don't share this info opening and anytime I hear someone on the phone who only vaguely identifies themself as someone looking to verify my identity, I get cautious. Block this number and be very careful.

This number calls EVERYDAY for the last 2 weeks and never leaves a message, and yet I can't find a listing for it at Canada411! All that appears on my caller ID is 'unknown number'. It's funny how I pay for a service from the phone company that's pretty much usesless when it comes to identifying less than half the callers I get.
