Just got a message from that # on my answering machine. A Mr. Michaels from Gold Rush Sweepstakes & Gaming Board in regards to an unclaimed certified check. I'm sure it's a scam. The voice sound electronically altered.

I just recieved a call from this same number stating they were from the gold rush sweep stakes and I had a package from FED EX waiting at their office...They were calling to make sure that my address was the same, it was an address that I lived at 4 years ago. I had won $250,000 according to them. I said I did not want the package and in the backround I could hear 2 foreign men talking in the backround about how I did not want the package. This is a scam, do not give our your address!!

Apparently, I was next on this list, for i received this same 'IMPARATIVE'-must-return-our-call-immediately message claiming to be from Bank of America (of whom i have no affiliation). The message was lefft from a 'Michael Bennett' who spoke broken english with a thick accent. I returned the call (apparently after hours)...but, the same guy answered the phone and said to call back tomorrow because all the reps are gone. i tlod him that it was He who had left a message or his twin brother to which i got nothing. i plan on calling the number today from a different phone and "playing" with them a bit. I think it's funny how the same # claims to be Bank of Amer. AND Publishers ClearingHuse... ?

This number is obviously a scam!!! They called my mom's house - who I haven't lived with in 12 years - asking for my by my maiden name. Some foreign guy who barely spoke English claiming to be a Michael Bennett with Bank of America... which I have no affiliation with. You call back and it's a general message stating that all their representatives are busy & to leave a message. BE AWARE!!!

You CAN report it to your Attorney General's office, however not all states follow the same laws, and there may be a separate agency that would handle these types of calls. A lot of Attorneys General look for patterns of fraud, but can't block numbers and don't handle individual cases.
