They can be quite harassing. As mentioned by someone else, they called one of my neighboors trying to contact me but after making a deal with them to pay my debt (In my case it was a sears card), they have been pretty nice to work with. I set up my automatic payments and I never receive any calls from them unless I have to renew my check numbers.Word of advice... if you have some outstanding debt and are able pay more than the minimum, these people are willing to set up payment plans giving up to 50% discount if you qualify.
